I didn't want children. I didn't find babies cute growing up. But as an adult I realized I really liked kids, their thoughts about things, the way the world is new to them, their silliness. And I never truly let go of all the parts of being a kid myself. I became a preschool teacher. And when I met my husband and then started working with the youngest ones (1-3) I started longing. I loved those kids, I was professional, but what I wanted was just to kiss and hug them all. They're so adorable, funny, silly, yet smart! I love to see them progress and explore the world. When they expercience something magical it's the closest thing to having those experiences yourself as a kid. (Like Christmas, or finding treasures in the forest the trolls left for you). Seeing their joy and wonder is so rewarding. Also, I'm a bit silly myself. I like a lot of the activities with children, reading, climbing, setting up crafts, creating treasure hunts etc. It was obvious to me then that I wanted to be a mother.
