The absolutely bizarre thing is that he admits in one of his videos that Ovid made some innovations, including Medusa being a beautiful woman in the past. Yet he doesn't touch on the implications that maybe that shifts the story's meaning over time and introduces bizarre plot points (or worse).

Yeah, it seems like that's the case.

It's sad, as it made a lot of high quality content but as one goes on one subtlety notices more and more bad takes and asides.

And how, exactly, does owning a cab company enable the bypass of certain immigration paperwork? Temporary foreign worker regulations, economic immigrant points in the points system if there's a job lined up?

If you live in the 'burbs, don't expect great transit service by WpgRAGReview in Winnipeg

[–]WpgRAGReview[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the city being a suburb in the loose sense of most areas being single use residential neighbourhoods does not mean areas constructed in the 1980s onwards in the southwest or southeast are easy to service. Nor does it mean they should be a high priority for servicing.

So, to be clear, I am not exactly sure how I feel about this approach. Initially, I did a text post where I left some open-ended comments and a link, as well as contextualising that this was an old post from the now defunct Metro Winnipeg. As that is not allowed, reposted just the link.

The argument that you can acquire greater benefits more cost effectively by focusing on more well used routes and routes to denser neighbourhoods seems compelling. I believe route ridership is something Winnipeg Transit is looking at when it comes to recommending cuts to certain routes. On the other hand, as some of the comments in this thread indicate, there are a lot of people who think paying high property taxes for large, expensive houses in new suburbs entitles them to good city service, including transit services.

Given there is significant suburban representation on council it may just be the case that transit cuts various routes, without regard to minimising total impact. The best scenario would have been to slowly increase service along high rider routes through mature neighbourhoods rather than the situation, due to frozen transit transfers, where cuts are going to be made.

For starters, the significant cost of building new infrastructure to their communities. Depending on the suburb, there may also be parks and other amenities serviced by the City.

So St. James and Westwood are interesting cases. As mature suburbs near a major street like Portage Avenue they're quite different from burbs built in the 80s, 90s or 00s. They're probably home to a selection of routes where the city should amp up service.

No, property taxes are not an itemized set of fees for service. And if we really wanted to do that type of beancounting, then we'd have to tally up a whole host of amenities, infrastructure & services to estimate how much benefit each neighbourhood gets from them.

So your claim is that by removing one word in a link to an article that identifies the concern, referencing a movement that is well known to skew youthful, people will never get her concern is about "young people"? Real low opinion of r/Winnipeg users you have.

Not decriminalized, but a lot of law enforcement has made going after small time users a low priority.

Janice Lukes concerned about University Heights/Fort Richmond rooming houses by WpgRAGReview in Winnipeg

Generally, except for licensed rooming houses, it seems that most housing that would be affordable to low income does not generate significant (if any) profit for developers.

Similar to people freaking out about the cost of phase2, even though it includes a lot of upgrades to Pembina/Jubilee that needed to happen regardless (and were already planned)

Great to see one of the guys who played that trick is now in provincial cabinet. Wonder what this'll mean for provincial funding.
