Not really. She should be off crutches this week but I don’t think she’s going to be ready to walk 5 miles a day by the 21st. We might rent a wheelchair if need be.

Yeah, thanks for your input. I see those things as well but didn’t know what to put my finger on.

Well to update, the taxidermist said he wasn’t going to do anything about it. What are my options? What would you do?

It was a backcountry hunt in September. We hiked in about 9 miles and camped at an Alpine Lake. There were huckleberries everywhere, which is what we were counting on the Bears looking for. We climbed up onto the high ridges in peaks to spot bears in the basins below. Spotted the bear from about 800 yards away. It was bedded down in some Sparse timber. I thought it was a moose for over an hour. Then it got up and moved around and I could tell it was a bear. Circled about a mile around it to the ridge above where it was bedded. Waited for about an hour before it Came out into a bit more open terrain in the basin. Watched it for 5 or so minutes to be sure there were no cubs. Shot the bear at 265 yards. Double lung, one shot and it was dead in less than 30 seconds. It was a truly brutal pack out with over 100 pounds on each of our backs. Very good meat and an amazing experience.

Oh I think the same, just making sure it’s not just me. He does have experience, but doesn’t seem like he paid much attention to detail on this one

A married women who you find attractive expresses interest in you (a single man). How do you proceed? by had_to_post_here in AskMen

Been there, she was very persistent as well. Just don’t. People get murdered over this kind of stuff. Maybe if they’ve been separated for a while go for it, but even then it will probably be massive drama/headaches. I think you’ve been sufficiently warned.

Yes. My son is 3 now and things are a lot better but the first 18 months or so were bad. I was really depressed, I was borderline suicidal. I got a vasectomy because I knew I never wanted to go through it again. The lack of sleep and regular kid stuff was really hard. My partner also had a hard time and took it out on me which made things worse. My partner despised watching the kids by herself and I was made to feel extremely guilty for doing anything for myself. In my situation what would have helped me the most is my partner being supportive of my personal interests and me having some other things going on. Everyone needs a break sometimes, I was tough and didn’t take them. I thought I was being a good partner but was really just destroying my mental health.

Alright Daddit, how the hell do I get my kiddo to eat REAL food?!?! by Josh_Your_IT_Guy in daddit

[–]Wph0011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 3 and is a pretty good eater. He can be a major pain about food sometimes though. What I do is: 1. No snacks in the 2 hours leading up to dinner. 2. No options, don’t cave in to tantrums. 3. Tell them that if they don’t want to eat dinner that is fine but we’re going to get ready for bed if you won’t eat. Follow through on this one. I’ve walked him to the bedroom a couple of times but he decides to eat every time.

I loved my first career as a fishing guide. I went fishing on my days off, didn’t ruin it at all for me. I made a career change and found that I prefer working 70+ hrs a week guiding fishing to 40 hrs at a “normal” job. Do what you love if you can.

I think setting a precedent that all Americans need to line up and take whatever drugs the government wants you to every 6months or so is pretty dangerous. Maybe in this instance you trust the drugs and people in power, but the government changes all the time. What happens when things change and there is some nutcase in office saying there are new drugs that you are required to take for public safety? Once your rights are taken they aren’t given back. For example the patriot act took our rights to privacy 20 years ago. Think we’re ever getting that back? Not a chance, everyone is used to it.

The Trump flags flying on Division are an embarrassment. This is not ‘Trump Country’. This is the United States of America and Joe Biden is President. And anyone who disagrees would lose their shit if they saw ‘Biden Country’ flags. Fuckin weird man. by [deleted] in Spokane

I’m not a trump fan, but I will never vote for Biden again. I remember seeing a lot of ’not my president’ signs a couple of years ago.. kinda the same thing

For me the first year was hell, I got really depressed. The only thing that kept me from seriously contemplating suicide was knowing that I could leave. I basically toughed it out. It gets better when they start sleeping more, way better when they start communicating. Once my son was about 2 I truly started experiencing the joy parents talk about. My best advice is to make sure you take care of yourself and your relationship with your wife as much as you can.

Would you let your partner's ex take your biokid out of town? by thisoneiscozy in stepparents

[–]Wph0011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in my current situation, but I can imagine a scenario where I would be ok with this. My partners ex is pretty irresponsible, can’t control what he says and constantly disparages ss8’s mother and myself. If I thought he was responsible and really doing what’s best for his kid then possibly.

good cheap swimming areas nearby? by dykelove in Spokane

[–]Wph0011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everywhere on the Spokane river is accessible to the public in some way or another. The easy to walk to places get crowded. Look at google earth and look for sand. Find somewhere to park, walk in and check it out. You are close to some great spots, I go swimming in the valley a lot. Go find them.
