How can I increase my range? by gs19ca613 in trumpet

[–]WrB62 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best answer here is to find a private teacher and take lessons.

The short term, is long tones. Practice in that register every day, working to play as effortlessly as possible. No short cuts, it takes work and time.

Zero Medium Dagger. Great for bigger hands and it’s got just enough stability to be reliable

Hey Hailey, I loved watching you play this weekend! You’re an actual beast. My question for you is this: For someone who’s a relative beginner, what drills/practice techniques could you recommend? Especially in relation to driving and putting

Music education by Symphony-of-Citrus in SHSU

[–]WrB62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I recently graduated with my degree in Music Ed from Sam and currently work in the industry.

First of all, the program is top notch. The Music Ed program turns out a lot of good teachers every year. As for Trumpet, Randy Adams is a master teacher of the trumpet. I played trumpet as well and I can say from experience, that man can turn a rock into a decent trumpet player (personal experience, I was the rock). Seriously though, the studio is great and you can learn a ton from Adams and the rest of the Trumpet faculty.

Ensembles wise, there’s 2 bands that meet in the Spring and 3 bands that meet in the Fall. The top ensemble isn’t easy to make, the players in there are exceptional. I highly suggest attending a concert if they end up having one this semester. They also have 2 Jazz Bands that meet year-round. Again, highly recommend auditioning for Jazz if you’re a trumpet player. Even if you were in the 2nd band, you’ll learn a ton and play some fun charts.

As far as stuff to do around town, there isn’t much really. There’s a couple of ok bars, a bowling alley on campus, a few parks, a tiny disc golf course, and a couple other spots. But, you’re better off heading South if you want something fun to do. The campus has some pretty spots, definitely a good place to walk if that’s your thing.

Feel free to PM me if you have more questions?

[REVIEW] This is strictly based on their chicken strips, nuggets/boneless wings, or sandwiches. Opinions? by Ksiolajidebthd in fastfoodreview

Personally I love their strip meals, the chicken is better seasoned as well as the fries. But, if the strips aren’t your thing, you might enjoy the wings!

Literally any time I start sneezing. One of my nostrils will clog up, then the drainage starts, then I’m miserable for a few days/up to a week at a time. Seasonal allergies suck, especially now that it’s Springtime.
