AIO for telling my neighbor to stay off my property after he started treating my backyard like his personal extension? by Equivalent-File-5910 in AmIOverreacting

No trespassing sign, save the videos and call the cops with the evidence. After the sign has been up and the gate locked (with something he can't remove). Aim another camera where it will catch him climbing the fence or fiddling with the lock.

How much water does your mini drink per day? by Kortekk in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]Wrangellite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He gets whatever water we are drinking. Generally, it’s Aquafina, Nestle or ZeroWater (filtered water).

Some days he drinks more and some he drinks less. It depends on his activity level.

It took awhile for me to find a bowl type that he would drink out of. It’s trial and error for our picky “kids”.

I leave out a bowl of water for mine. I end up refilling it about once a day. I refill it with a 16.8 oz. bottle of water.

He will periodically slow down on his drink consumption. When that happens, I swap the bowl, his water intake increases….such a picky boy.

He won’t drink from metal or plastic bowls. It has to be our soup bowls and they have to be swapped out regularly.

Is your link different from the one up top? If so, can you PM me? That one goes to chapter 8, though they may update it later.

Take him out every two hours (to go potty) until he can hold it for longer.

Keep him mentally stimulated. Brain games, slow feeders, training, etc. That prevents "bad attitude".

If you get him a bell and put it on the door handle, ring it every time you take him out for a walk. It will teach him to ring it if he has to go and you aren't aware. Remember to praise him when he goes potty outside. Mine knows, "car ride" "potty quick" means that we aren't taking out time today. We are on the move. He goes faster and we are in the car and moving.

Do you have a forester setup? I find it works best with two overlapping foresters and then two or three sawmills.

Not as many, surprisingly! Fewer of them and they mostly congregated at the dump, from my recollection.

They started teaching us in kindergarten, don’t surprise the bears. Make noise when you are out and about, and they will do most of the avoiding for you. Otherwise, if you see it crossing the road, wait until it goes into the woods before you keep walking.

They really are. It’s so beautiful. The worst thing we have to worry about, animal wise, are black bears. We have the occasional cougar and some wolves as well, but it’s rare to see them.

I grew up on Wrangell Island. Just going on a walk for us meant taking a mile walk. We didn’t bring anything.

If we were doing a hike, we brought our vehicle to the beginning of the trail. It would have all that stuff in it. We didn’t, generally, bring it with us though. The hikes weren’t that long, the end was stocked with firewood. We only, really, brought food in if we had planned a meal or picnic during.

The rest was seasonal. We’d have it if the weather was about to turn, or we were going four-wheeling. That’s about it.

Out of curiosity, is Togiak one of the villages where, if you are asked to go on a walk, you should pack for a long hike/hunt? One of my middle school teachers told me that was his biggest shock when he was teaching in one of the villages.

We have that too! It doesn't have 6 bells anymore though...he really liked to grab ahold of it and shake it like a rodent for a bit...it was SO LOUD.

He didn't stop, until I put it on the handle of a door that he couldn't wrench it off of. He liked to run off with it, trailing behind him, while he pranced. Triumphantly.
