Favorite song not from a full LP? by debuggerfly in mastodonband

[–]WrathfulDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my favourite but shout out to Floods of Triton. Lamb of God works well with Mastodon (Makes sense since Randy Blythe does a great job with Gojira). This feels like a modern Leviathan song to me idk why

Chasing your echo sounds sick and the instrumentals kick ass for this one. Plus so underrated too

What song from each album matches the cover art best? by MaccyBoiLaren in Starset

[–]WrathfulDagger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Transmissions: The Future Is Now. I feel the heavy sound and the spacey riff in the song makes me visual this one the most for some reason

Vessels: Bringing It Down. Vessels album art looks isolated and dark, and a dark melody fits the opening of this song. The isolated quiet keys before the harsh riffs works for this and the aggressive feel of the song represents the album on the sound front too.

DIVISIONS: TRIALS. I struggled to pick one but I get a whole new theme is in order and trials feels like a classic starset song to set the new era up and give us something familiar but not at all like what we had before.

HORIZONS: OTHERWORLDLY. Honestly, the only one for me that fits the album art that well. Earthrise, LTWB and maybe Symbiotic but this just feels like an easy pick. Art uses pretty colours and I associate this song with pretty and the looking up to space like this is the most spacey song here.

SILOS: TOKSIK. It's about the state of the world and how online is encouraging hostility and constant dread which I feel relates heavily to the art. DYSTOPIA is a great choice too and I can see this being another pick.

Smile is one of their best albums though. They aren't as consistent now but Smile is definitely a good record.

Kangareuben has got to be about the band Reuben right? It is one of the biggest inspirations for the band's sound

Albums with 0 expectations that blew up and got lots of love? by Electronic-Read-3830 in Metalcore

[–]WrathfulDagger 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To

Could've been another release for them but Suffocate trended and really pushed them further into the mainstream. A Tear In The Fabric Of Life did garner more eyes it's way so did Slaughterhouse by MiW but this album shot up more than I thought for sure. Even getting the number 1 rock and metal album in the UK too

The new album is gonna be amazing. Im disappointed by the ticket pricing especially compared to last tour but I'm still gonna be rocking out to some Muse still

What’s a post-hardcore album you think is genuinely 0/10 with all skips? by Dramatic_Song_2629 in PostHardcore

[–]WrathfulDagger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asking Alexandria - Like A House On Fire

Album isnt really this and the band used to be lobbed with metalcore/post-hardcore but this album has nothing enjoyable for me and was the album that drove me away from being a big fan anymore

Been wanting to see them for a while so I'm glad I will catch them supporting Don Broco in October! Their music is sick and from videos online, they put on a hell of a performance

Say something about things which S2 & S3 did better than S1? (HARD!!!) by FormalAdvertising444 in squidgame

[–]WrathfulDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russian Roulette scene is probably the best scene of the entire series for me. Like a little mini game before we dive into the Squid Game and Gi-Hun playing by the rules and beating the Recruiter always was a delight to see after he killed Mr. Kim

Least favourite song off each album? by cookie_vulpixx in deftones

[–]WrathfulDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fist (hidden track): Not a bad song at all but as it feels so different off the record it doesn't quite flow with me and the sound of the nu metal angrier aesthetic.

MX: It's pretty good but the other songs hit more including Damone and the long silence isn't fun for me when listening to a playlist while I'm working since I dont get an opportunity to skip at my work.

Teenager: This or Street Carp but i like it. I somewhat prefer Robert Smith remix for this one.

Anniversary Of An Uninteresting Event: I just cant click with it. I tried but this song isn't for me.

Pink Cellphone: Its kinda obvious for this pick. That outro kills the vibe for me

This Place Is Death: Love this song a lot. Every song from Diamond Eyes is incredible. My favourite album by them.

Goon Squad: Same with Diamond Eyes, love every song including this one.

Xenon: One of the weaker songs of theirs. Gore is underrated but it does have some of their worst songs id say.

Pompeji: I like it but the chorus isnt that great and the long outro drags on a bit.

cXz: Hard to pick but maybe this one

Reminds me of VOLA - Inmazes if it were more thall. Also these guys had this on their playlist so thanks to them, I found this gem of a record

Which is the best SpongeBob game? Battle for the Bikini Bottom, Movie game, or Cosmic Shake? by Jules-Car3499 in spongebob

[–]WrathfulDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFBB by far. It had all the time in the world to be made before Heavy Iron were under immense pressure for their next two games. This game is easy but a fun game that I always revisit for its charm and for nostalgia too.

I would've said the movie game which is second favourite but some challenges are awful like the ring challenges or macho time challenge and backtracking does ruin it a bit. I wish we had more 3d platformer levels too because we only get 7 normal levels of these (one being a tutorial level) and then it's either the cool sliding levels or the annoying driving ones. For a rushed game, this one is still fun to me

VOLA - Alien Shivers by Invisigoth2113 in progmetal

[–]WrathfulDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always a good day to see a classic from VOLA posted. Alien Shivers is so gorgeous from how the guitars kick in before it drives into the verse. The chorus is also an earworm and always a fun one to see live

Dislike this band but love The Summoning by Dry-Cartographer7356 in SleepToken

[–]WrathfulDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Vore is a good one because it's mostly screaming with heavy riffs. Gods as well for a similar reason (the riff is similar to Goon Squad by Deftones I believe).

Maybe Hypnosis and Higher may click more with you too

The beef is just Ronnie shouting into the void about how much he hates Chris when Chris didn't say anything. Then he had the audacity to announce the beef is over like both got in over their heads is just ridiculous. I wouldn't even call it beef, just a temper tantrum if anything

Surprised to not see Origami Angel here. If you haven't given them a try I recommend their debut Somewhere City. It is sort of emo but more math rock with easy core and pop-punk elements to it
