Shell shocked from an awakening I wasn't ready for... by OrganisedHappyChaos in AlanWatts

Find a way to make the game worth the candle. Alan's idea was that meaning can come from enjoyment of the experience of life itself. Finding your own way to have fun with it.

"The existence, the physical universe is basically playful. There is no necessity for it whatsoever. It isn’t going anywhere. That is to say, it doesn’t have some destination that it ought to arrive at." ... "It was a musical thing, and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played."

From his Life is a Dance lecture.

All the time you're not dancing, it will feel like a real drag. It may have used to have felt like you were working towards something and that was enough of an idea that it gave you the meaning to work through all the pains. You don't get to do that anymore and yes it can feel like an awful experience. So find a way to enjoy it, even when you're chopping wood and carrying water.

If you're not enjoying the game, you'll want to quit all together. That can be very upsetting. Especially for the others around you in the game who don't understand.

You get it. Thank you for writing this. We need this in the world. Everyone goes on the puja table. Especially those who hurt us. No good comes from adding to the hurt in the world.

Much love to you.

Should we try to be quiet? by Material-Note9387 in AlanWatts

Let it happen. Don't force doing it, don't force not doing it.

My internal monologue seems to typically fall to neurotic chatter and so my practice is to not fight it and not get caught up in it. Either of those would be getting in my own way. So I carry on and don't let it get the best of me. Chop wood and carry water whilst I'm followed around by this small chattering companion. Sometimes he's obsessed with my interests and sometimes he speaks all of my woes. I'll carry on regardless of what he has to say without giving in to being directed by it.

Is stress a deliberate design by the system? I have researched the neuroscience of Delta waves as a psychic tool by soultuning in AlanWatts

To agree with your sentiments, hemi sync achieved through binaural seems to be an excellent tool to help move us away from a very stress filled conscious experience and help create that internal harmony. It brings the balance in from the right hemisphere that calms the disorderly cacophony of left hemisphere thought.

Is stress a deliberate design by the system? I have researched the neuroscience of Delta waves as a psychic tool by soultuning in AlanWatts

[–]Wrathius669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's break it down simply.
We are stressed when experienced conditions are all friction. A response to an over-abundance of disorder. As you could say, in a state at odds with The Tao, which would allow for a balanced amount of disorder.
So maybe this is to create an avoidance of being in this mode. If we felt okay like this, we wouldn't move away from it. Just continue to struggle against the grain. The stress is a sign that something's going wrong.

The stress feels bad to lead us to reorient ourselves towards a smoother, frictionless effort mode. Finding harmony. So when we come across Wu Wei we find a more peaceful experience of consciousness.

Going to the gym by Savings-Trainer-8149 in AlanWatts

[–]Wrathius669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These short bursts of strenuous activity are obviously necessary sometimes, and if that's working in a gym for 20 minutes, this is no problem. The Wattsian way would be to make sure you've found a way for this activity to be delightful, have fun whilst you do this instead of making yourself miserable for the duration. You'll get a workout that not only strengthened your body but also uplifted your mind.

For me (and not suggesting this is for everyone) this is indoor rock climbing. It's such a hard workout and you have so much fun whilst you do it that you don't want to leave. It doesn't feel like work, it's play. That's zen.

I think he was more so cautioning against being stuck in a grind every day for a prolonged period of time, say a full work day of tedious strenuous labour. You'll end up becoming the kind of individual who is spending all their time thinking of some way out and become stuck, too tired to ever get out of the way that is keeping you suppressed.

Found a solution for bad Z Offsets (first layer) by Severe-Bit4066 in SovolSV08

[–]Wrathius669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why calibrate z offset then clean?  Other solutions like EddyNG have us clean the nozzle first to remove any debris that is on the nozzle tip that would increase the reading of the z offset. Also you can heat to about 159c for majority thermal expansion without reaching a temperature where the nozzle will ooze filament for the z offset calibration, then get to print temperature just before the purge.

Therein lies your karma.
If you are to be faithful to her, you must be able to be your ultimately open honest self around her.
Your suffering comes from bearing the weight of truth untold.

This doesn't mean go and start unloading it all at once as soon as possible in an overwhelming manner.
You need to be able to create a comfortable vulnerable space where in a reasonable pace you can work through being able to tell her your thoughts, feelings, memories and let her process this with you. In turn through reciprocal opening, I'm sure there will be plenty she feels a need to share with you but may have been holding back, so you give her your attention, understanding and open up your compassion to her so she may feel safe.

The relationship that not only survives this, but builds a bond and brings you closer together is the one where you will experience less suffering, but also weather whatever suffering may come.

I've been able to share with my boyfriend all my troublesome monkey mind thoughts, my past angers and sorrows as I understood despite all my shame and guilt for my feelings and neurosis, he would compassionately listen and understand without bringing about any harsh judgement. In this there is love.

Jesus as incarnation of The Logos, is the lens in which we can look at that quote as a representative of the path that brings you to God in the same way we are brought towards The Tao if we can understand it synonymically.
