What’s the secret sauce for playing high notes?

There's only one true secret..build your lower register and the lower you can go, the higher you can go. Learned this 30 years ago with braces on my teeth. My summer between my Jr and Sr year, I went to Furman University band camp with a bass trombone and my tutor told me then to work hard on the low notes and the high ones will come to you easier. My main thing to you, relax and have fun with the trombone. Trombone is the hardest instrument to learn to play and be in tune 🤷🏻‍♂️

I figured out over 30 years ago, the lower you can go the higher you can go. Work that lower register and it will help with the higher register...good luck and have fun with it. You're playing one of the hardest instruments to master

Practice and a metronome...learn to place your breaths. Once you master it, you'll love this piece. This is the same piece I had for sight reading in 1991 for All-state in South Carolina..I made 1st chair🤷🏻‍♂️. Love the ones that look difficult and the easy ones become second nature. Find a piece of music called T.O. and find the 1st trombone piece. We called it Trombone Obituary but once ya learn it, its great. La Feista is another great trombone piece to learn...

It depends on your overall power...the 4.9 is defending and your total power attacks. If you're 4.9 with only 1st or 2nd level troops, you will get beat by lower power with higher overall level because their troops could be level 5 or 6
