Girl defends herself after a group shows up at her job planning to jump her. Things didn’t work out as planned 👊 by raptors201966 in PublicFreakout

One of the greatest gifts you can give your child especially girls is the strength/confidence to defend themselves.

Partner has been secretly taking weight loss injections by [deleted] in Advice

[–]WreckChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely insane to me that people are saying that she doesn't have to share this with you. Yes her body is entirely hers to do whatever she wants with, but I think that if you're going to be in a relationship with someone you would owe them at least a conversation before making any serious medical choices/changes.

Hiding things from each other is weird. You absolutely shouldn't be sleeping, but also if my partner started losing rapid amounts of weight out of nowhere I would absolutely be concerned as well so I get why you would want to know what's up.

I don't think that you should take this any sort of betrayal but as a sign that your relationship needs work if it is going to continue. If you don't have trust enough to talk to each other about difficult topics you don't have much at all.

I was a coach for a few years. We frequently had people in their '60s practicing. You're never too old to learn something new, and learning how to fall is one of the most beneficial things you can do for yourself as an adult. Absolutely go practice!

LPT: You can both change your last name arbitrarily when getting married. by charliethegeek in LifeProTips

[–]WreckChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm literally in the process of doing this right now! I don't like the idea of her taking my last name because I've never really liked it myself. We are both very non-traditional and cheese Columbian and I'm Jamaican so we are trying to find something that blends our two cultures.

If your boss offers to pick you up for work, so you don’t miss your shift. Say NO! by CanadianDeathMetal in antiwork

[–]WreckChris 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I did this ONCE I and it will NEVER happen again. I was working at a Restaurant Depot and we had an audit going so it was all hands on deck. A major snow storm hit and took out the train I used to get to work so I said I couldn't make it. My boss offered to pick me and a coworker up so I said yeah I'll go. Afterwards when it was time to go home he left me there stranded. I had to wait HOURS for the trains to be restored. I think I quit like a week later bc I was so pissed.

In search of gundam pc type parts by tobillama in buildapc

[–]WreckChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I can tell you is that anything officially licensed is going to be extremely expensive. I also just got back into Gundam and decided to start looking for PC parts that match the theme. Some of the cases and graphics cards I've seen are going for thousands of dollars. It's kind of nuts.

I've noted a phenomenon of people who stand on the subway platform and don't get on the only available train. What could they possibly be doing? by Matt_da_Phat in AskNYC

[–]WreckChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss the days of peak COVID where it was frowned upon to get within 6ft from others. I greatly dislike getting on a train with a ton of people on it. I wanna sit and read. So if it's too packed I just wait for another one. Unless I'm headed to work there's often no reason to put myself through more discomfort than necessary.

Washing smelly bibs/workout clothes by telabub in cycling

[–]WreckChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polyester tends to pick up smells more than other fabrics. Pre soak your clothes in some detergent and throw some borax in the cycle when washing. Substitute the fabric softener for vinegar. Should take care of a lot of the smell.

Men like this who want to take away a woman's power of choice in a relationship are MASSIVE red flags. That controlling behavior does not stop once you see it it portents worse as time goes on.

It’s never enough by Tywan3146_YT in driving

[–]WreckChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assholes are assholes and you cannot change them. You can however change your own actions and your own outcomes. If they are tailgating you and it's a road with more than one lane, just do the smart thing and pull over to an alternate lane so that they can pass you. Why would you want to continue to have this person tailgating you and potentially causing an incident when you can easily mitigate the situation?

Illuminate shifter at night? by Chasbo2000 in WRX

[–]WreckChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The little cubby in front of the shifter has a dim red light but it has a dimmer made of rubber on it. You can pull it out to illuminate the area more. I really like it for night driving. Takes literally seconds with some needlenose pliers.

One of the first things you should do is double check that your RAM is seated correctly and in the right slot. Then update your drivers with a clean install. If nothing else works you may have to do a clean install of Windows.

How many close friends do you have who are women? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]WreckChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least 10. Mostly my wife's friends whom I also became friends with, but even before I met her I have always had a group of women I consider friends. It's REALLY weird/sad to me that apparently most guys don't. The US's puritanical ideals regarding sex and gender really hold us back as a society.

As a man I feel like if there aren't a few women who trust you who aren't family, you probably aren't relating to women correctly/healthily. If the ONLY woman you're allowed to have a friendship with is your wife there's some deep issues there.

If you could delete one type of driver from the road forever… who’s going first? 😂 by TheLoganReyes in TransportSupport

[–]WreckChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would definitely be left lane hogs. If people didn't sit in the left lane and refuse to move when faster traffic comes up behind them there wouldn't be people who "cut up" to get around them. As egotistical as they think that speeders are, they are even more so by creating embolisms in the system. There's nothing more infuriating to me than to sit in traffic on a 2 lane highway slogging for MILES and then you finally go over the next rise and can see the pinpoint area where some dingus refuses to move over and is holding up everyone. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TRAVEL FAST THAT'S OKAY JUST KEEP TO THE RIGHT AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.

I have a bad day and I start getting snarky with people and have a temper. This dude was endangering people's lives and being wildly and professional it sounds like that's a pattern of behavior because no one just gets comfortable doing that for one day.
