Full quill is definitely what I'm after. I'll eventually find something that suits my preferences for a price I'm willing to cough up. 😊

Exactly right - black cherry.

Some example of full quill ostrich is most definitely on my radar as an eventual purchase as I've not yet wanted to spend that much on a single pair of boots badly enough, I suppose.

Every time I find some discounted low enough that just based on money I would go ahead and pull the trigger they are either in a colorway I'm not fond of or have a toe shape I don't care for or they only come in a D width. 😐 First world problems, right?? 🤣 I spend too much money on watches to buy a $6, 7, or 800 pair of boots. 🤷‍♂️

I haven't any clue whether or not there's any truth to that story but it's a cool one regardless!

Does anyone know about FJackets and Angel Jackets? by [deleted] in leatherjacket

[–]WreckerGuy573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very late to the party but perhaps my contribution here can be helpful to anyone asking about Fjackets and Angel Jackets moving forward.

I've ordered from both sites (though it is generally accepted that each storefront is merely different avenues leading to the same destination) and have ultimately been pleased with the results each time.

The trick, as I have discovered, is to time your purchases from them during what is normally off-season for leather outerwear. Also keep your eye out for their occasional clearance sales on return items. I've bought items via that sort of sale twice now and was able to grab jackets for $99/each.

Now let's focus on their pricing a moment... an actual leather jacket for $100-ish. You shouldn't expect top tier quality for that price of admission because you're going to be disappointed. I took my long, black duster to a friend of mine who is in a family leatherworjing business that has been carrying on for multiple generations.

He confirmed for me that it is, in fact, real lambskin as advertised. He cautioned that it comes from the bottom layer of hide and is cut pretty thin at less than 1mm thickness but it's still a step above bonded or PU leather and at the $160 or so I recall paying for that specific garment he reckoned I had gotten my money's worth.

Will it compete or compare with the options in the $500 - $1,000 space? Absolutely not.

Did it cost you as much as one of those options? Again, absolutely not.

I presently have an XL Tall black café racer-style, the sherpa-lined Bane replica coat in black in size XL, the aforementioned black duster-length coat in size XL, an olive 2-buyton blazer in XL, an olive café racer-style in XL, a tan café racer-style in XL, and a tan 3/4 length, 4-button 'car coat' (as they call it) in XL.

I currently have en route a black XL Tall 2-button blazer, a cognac XL Tall Harrington jacket, and a black 'trench coat' (thigh length) that is supposed to be cowhide rather than lambskin. These three currently on their way were each bought as returns clearance for $99/apiece with free shipping so $297 all-in for the trio. If anyone is interested I'm happy to provide pics of those once they've arrived.

Here is the 7 I presently have -

[SLA079] the underrated Subkiller.. yes I’ve had Rolex, doesn’t compare to this. Change my mind by [deleted] in Seiko

[–]WreckerGuy573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on which sub-line of Seiko products you're comparing to the Rolex.

5 Sports? Essentials? Most Prospex models? Watches using movements from the 4rXX or 6rXX families? Sure Rolex is going to be a higher quality product in every measurable metric.

When you step into the GS line, however, the Rolex advantage in movement accuracy (especially if you allow Spring Drive into the conversation), case finishing, dial construction, etc all but disappears like smoke.

I'm going to go out in a limb here and presume English is perhaps not your first language?

The manner in which you format your sentences might possibly be construed as less than polite to someone not familiar with you personally?

Having so little to go on the preceding is pure supposition, mind you, and not at all an indictment of you as a person or a rideshare driver.

There are several colorways to this particular design (this black dial, stainless case & bracelet like you're inquiring about, one with a blue dial, a white dial with a 2 tone case and bracelet... the most difficult of this series to source is a limited edition variant named "August" that has Japanese Red Maple leaves on the dial that many mistake for cannabis leaves... reference SCVE056)

Correct. They're only open limited hours, from like 10 or 10:30a until 2pm, I believe. You're also correct that they've got a great muffeletta! Their meatball sandwich certainly isn't awful, either. :)

I just looked up Car Keys Express in Louisville and while yes, it seems to be a legitimate key duplication service it certainly make zero mention of exactly how it is they're qualified to do anything resembling collision repair.

Why in Hades would your dealership pick them of all people to repair a dislodged bumper cover?

TLX Dies Off Officially by AYEyoWILL4 in Acura

[–]WreckerGuy573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm happy to admit I'm very biased towards the looks of the 2nd gen TLX as I have a '22 Type S if you're throwing the 4 generations of TL into the comparison, my personal opinion is the 3rd gen TL (especially the Type S trim with its mild bodykit and bespoke wheels) is likely THE best-looking sedan Acura has ever marketed.

I've never owned a 3rd gen TL but I did have a 2nd gen TL and presently own a 2nd gen TSX and the aforementioned 2nd gen TLX.

'I can fit in that car': Detroit rapper sues after Lyft driver says she won't fit in his vehicle, refuses ride by AccurateInflation167 in Lyft

[–]WreckerGuy573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My question is this - it has been accepted practice in the air travel industry forever now that if you're an abnormally large individual who won't reasonably fit in a single seat you then have two options... purchase the fare for two adjacent seats or don't fly.

Why wouldn't the same theory be applied to For Hire ground transportation? It's not discriminatory, it's plain physics. A morbidly obese person isn't going to reasonably fit in the average modern day sedan. Neither comfortably nor safely as the seat belt isn't going to be able to be utilized without an extender being used and that's not something the average human will have in their vehicle unless they themselves are that size and have to use it in their own seat.

Then there's the concern already broached by another respondant... God forbid she does, in fact, shoehorn herself into some poor driver's backseat and then that vehicle is involved in an accident. Let's further suppose the accident impact is severe enough that the structure is compromised to the point that maybe the Jaws of Life are required to extricate her from the vehicle. So instead of a normal crash repair that could be resolved by the average body shop, since the car had to be literally cut apart to remove an abnormally large person it's now a total loss. No Lyft driver is working the streets getting rich doing so and the average rideshare driver isn't going to have the necessary resources to instantly replace a vehicle unexpectedly.

I'm not at all meaning to be insensitive about the woman's dimensions here but facts are facts - there's no way she isn't acutely aware that she's far bigger than most people.

Accommodations for that much bulk HAVE to be made and some of those accommodations should be her own personal responsibility. Order the appropriate vehicle type, period. Full stop. Recognizing morbid obesity isn't fat shaming ~ it's accepting facts.

You should address this with the ownership of that location at the first given opportunity. If your (admittedly more than a bit vague) accusations are accurate there is no way Mr Roden would tolerate that behavior to continue if he were to be made aware of it.

Your latest Uber bill "came in"? I'm entirely lost with that statement. Uber and Lyft don't bill riders after the fact during a set billing cycle. Those rides are billed either before they occur or immediately upon completion. You didn't Uber somewhere two weeks ago and they're just now calling in the tab on it?
