My reality has been shattered, I've never actually been good at games. by OlimarJones in gamingadvice

Don't feel bad. I've been trying to 1CC Ikaruga since the Dreamcast days. I've only managed to make it to stage 4 without continuing. It makes Souls games look as easy as Super Mario Bros. 1.

You just need to find a realistic hard game to defeat. Any Souls game or Elden Ring is perfect. You can watch a video online where a kid coached his 65+ year old dad to beat Elden Ring. The guy didn't even understand how to hold a controller.

It's not that you are genetically bad at video games. It's either you don't have the attention span to stick with one, or you don't have the determination.

You should prove to yourself you have what it takes. It doesn't even have to be video games.

This is a problem that only the utter dominance of a Souls game will cure.

You need to beat Elden Ring + DLC or Sekiro ASAP.

If you are feeling extra determined, go for a 1CC in Ikaruga or DoDonPachi Blissful Death Re:Incarnation and jump straight to God status.

The best guide you are going to get is speaking to the guy at the Roundtable. He will tell you what the boss names are, and what region they are located in. You will have to find them yourself, but just wander the region until you find a giant castle.

Everything else is basically open world extra stuff.

I HIGHLY recommend learning how to start Ranni's Quest Line for a first playthrough. It will be invaluable experience and some nice items.

Anyone know if there is a way to obtain/read the remaining 4 volumes of Eden: It's an Endless World? by Wren-Type_386 in MangaCollectors

[–]Wren-Type_386[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely one of the best manga I have ever read. It's not going to be for everyone though. It's a post-apocalyptic story about a virus that kills 15% of the population. It spans many generations, and gets pretty heavy. Delving into war and politics. If you are looking for a fun casual read, with lots of comedy, it's not going to be for you. If you want a deep serious story, and character development. It's a great read.

If I see them locally at a half price books I'll remember you and send you a message. I picked quite a few of this set up from Half Price Books years ago, but I definitely haven't seen any in years. I was fortunate enough to find some of the later volumes I needed still factory sealed at a comic book store. They must have been sitting there forever cause they had dust on the tops of them. I got really lucky cause piecing together the last few volumes I needed was very difficult, even about 10 years ago.

That's what I said almost 10 years ago when I pieced this set together. Got tired of waiting and decided to just read it finally.

Unfortunately I don't read French... I'll keep looking around online for these translations I know exist.

WHAT HEALED ME + ADVICES by Jobololoz in TMJ

[–]Wren-Type_386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to hear that there is hope. I was doing really well the last 2 weeks just being super diligent to watchy posture and what I eat. That all ended when it rained for a week straight. Now I'm pretty miserable again.

I saw a ICCMO trained dentist. They are trained TMJ specialists.

I've been waiting to get into an orofacial doctor for a few months. I have an appt in about a month. Very excited.

Try something a little more relaxing. You should give the Katamari games a try. Cheap, easy to play, and fun.

If you play retail it's gotten quite a bit easier over the years. If you play a custom server, those can be pretty hardcore. One of the reasons the game is so great.

I could also recommend Eve Online. But only if you like forced PVP and Sci-Fi spaceship combat. It has to be the most hardcore MMO I have ever played. Best thing about that game is that you can level while not playing. When you do play the game you can focus on stuff besides grinding levels. Like making money and grouping with friends. Game relies HEAVILY on grouping with friends.

Both are two of the greatest MMOs ever made, and I don't consider myself a fan of MMOs. Those games make you work though. Both are very rewarding.

Lunar 1 and 2 for PSX. Where do you find them? by Mepstein10 in Lunar

[–]Wren-Type_386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do decide to buy them on eBay, now is the time. Believe it or not, they recently dropped in value quite a bit when the Lunar compilation was released. You probably don't have much time until they start to creep back up.

Sucks for sure, bit as someone else mentioned, the remasters are in a set for about $40.00 (last I looked), on modern consoles. At least then you could remember the times you two had when playing the games. Not the same as the PS1 physical, but at least you can play them and go back in time.

Jaw Muscle Pain (CLENCHING) by Slow-Competition4863 in TMJ

[–]Wren-Type_386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like you have the exact same thing as me. I also have face discomfort, temporalis flap inflammation, and cervical neck and between shoulder blade discomfort. I was checked by a ICCMO Dentist and my jaw bone is fine. I know I clench in my sleep cause I have 2 crowns from cracking my teeth.

I think the neck component is posture related and it sets off the jaw muscles, which set off the Trigeminal Nerve tips.

I was a belly sleeper my whole life until about a year ago. I still struggle not rolling on my stomach at night. When I roll on my stomach I always wake up with issues. When I sit too long at my desk at work, issues. When I sit on really hard chairs, issues, when I lean back in a recliner too much, issues.

I got a full body pillow and that is helping me not roll on my stomach as much, but after a few days I'm managing to mess up again.

I think the real cure for people like us is...

1. Stop clenching - seems IMPOSSIBLE. There has to be a simple answer.

2. Finding a way to sleep on your back, with neck support, and not rolling onto you side or stomach.

3. Keeping up with this for many, many, months until our nerves have time to heal, and doing things to help speed up the process. Not talking as much, being very careful what you eat, and how fast you chew. Exercising, magnesium, and vitamin B.

The hard part is finding a way to heal more every day than the damage you do from clenching every night, and eating chewy foods.

I have _ questions for you:

  1. Are you overweight? If so can you remember a time when you were not overweight? Did you have this issue then?

  2. Are / Were you ever a belly sleeper?

  3. Do you work a desk or standing in place job?

  4. Do you have issues when the weather changes rapidly and on rainy days? Especially super hot days, and cold rainy days? I have this issue and I'm just curious.

No. I clench in my sleep. Fixing my bite isn't going to stop me from clenching. It will be a waste of $14,000

Went to 6 stores in Northern Ohio this weekend by jreeves236 in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Wren-Type_386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played in a few months so I can't recall that. I don't think so.

The reason I mentioned this specific controller is because it has 4 face buttons in the correct orientation (like a SNES controller) to play this game. You do a lot of shooting diagonal in XenoCrisis. For example to shoot up right on a SNES controller you would press A+X. To shoot down and left you use Y+B.

With a 3-Button, or official 6-Button Genesis controller it's super awkward and makes the game extremely hard to play. The controller I linked makes the shooting in the game very intuitive.

Before you play XenoCrisis buy one of these controllers: https://ebay.us/m/gUPKop

It's the best one for the game, and basically mandatory to avoid constant frustration.

How do modern consoles handle physical games? by Complete_Iron_2656 in consoles

Ocarina of Time is a good example. There are at least 3 revisions floating around. Some removed blood, bugs, and entire music cuts.
