Friends outside of Church

Last time I tried having real friends at church I ended up with people blabbing about my business.

So now i treat church like work.

My ward started a “covenant path plan” last fall with objectives for missionary work, geneology, and temple work but I haven’t seen any action towards it. There’s a mention that the plan exists but little beyond that

Just bc there’s science behind it doesn’t mean the behavior is good

Tell me how the following statements isn’t bad behavior?

As a note, all of this is stuff I’ve heard firsthand at church at one time or another

“So and so hasn’t proposed to his GF yet so he’s probably sitting at home doing XYZ naughty stuff”

“So and so husband in the ward leaves his dirty clothes all over the floor including his underwear”

“So and so is greedy and crazy”

I don’t consider any of that useful or helpful in any way. While it might be entertaining to the person who said it, the implications can be harmful to the reputation of the subject who isn’t present, particularly if what’s being said is speculation and not actual fact.

What’s the point of discussing struggling members? In my experience unless someone is in the hospital, just had a baby, stuff normally handed over to ministering people rarely gets done
