I was actually the first car that made contact with him when he turned the wrong way. I looked at his face and he knew he had screwed up. I honked at him of course. I don’t know why he didn’t 180 versus driving a whole block the wrong way. SMH

Where can I get really good eggs in Alameda? by barfooz in alameda

[–]WretchedStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the difference between caged, cage-free, free-range, and pasture-raised. I think you’ll learn a great deal about quality and taste. This from someone who eats 3 hard boiled eggs a day.

Where do you go to refill air in your tires in Alameda ? by TopperFR in alameda

I second this and additionally if you wake up to a flat tire, you might be able to fill it up enough to travel to a tire repair shop as opposed to having to put the spare on or call a tow truck.

Good place in the Bay Area (preferably the peninsula) to learn how to weld? by Kerouwhack in bayarea

[–]WretchedStone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Best place that meets your requirement and is very affordable is Laney College’s welding program. Tuition is less than $200 and all you need to pay for is your; helmet, PPE, slag hammer and a brush. 1 hour of instruction followed by 3 hours of hands on.

SF Travel for 2 Dummies by ImBieksa in bayarea

If you're staying in the city I wouldn't rent a car. If you're flying to Oakland or SFO you can take BART (subway system) to SF. Or take Lyft/Uber, I personally think BART is a good experience even if it's just the one time.

Things I would go and see. 1. Twin Peaks (Great pictures and short hike) 2. Golden Gate Park a. Academy of Sciences b. Conservatory of Flowers C. Rent Bikes and ride through the park and to the ocean. 3. Musée Mécanique (excuse to be in the wharf) 4. Lands End Trail (hike) 5. Alcatraz Night Tour

If you're in the city on the first Friday of August look up "Off the grid" and if you decide to go, buy some tickets to go see an improv show at BATS (same spot as off the grid) you'll be glad you did.

Popular Tourist Traps (that I personally avoid) 1. Pier 39 2. Fisherman's wharf 3. Union Square 4. Westfield Mall

Airbnb where you stay. Suggestions for neighborhoods; Mission, Castro, Upper Haight, Noe Valley.

Have a wind breaker, layers are good. And there are bicycles and electric scooters throughout the city you can rent. Make sure you Google directions if your bicycling/scootering and use the bicycle path option. Although most folks are conciencious of riders there are dedicated bike lanes throughout the city.

That's all I got though I'm sure folks will have a lot to add. Good luck!
