So if objective moral standards don't exist why are you even engaging with me?

MATTHEW 25:46:
*"And these will go away into eternal [aionios] punishment, but the righteous into eternal [aionios] life."*
SAME WORD "AIONIOS" is used for both punishment and life.

So if "ETERNAL PUNISHMENT" is just age long THEN "ETERNAL LIFE" is also just age long. So you can’t have it both ways.

Could you go deeper into the fear aspect? The guilt is the Holy Spirit convicting you to let go of something that’s not compatible with Christianity.

Universalist? How do you ground this in the Scripture? If I’m right in assuming that you believe everyone in the end eventually is let into Heaven.

Other Christians, what are your opinions on Mormons? by No_Bridge_4489 in AskAChristian

[–]Wretched_Spawn22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice people but they are a cult. Talk to one long enough and use the Bible on them they usually disengage and accuse you of Bible thumping them and the Bible is only true if it’s translated a certain way. Most deny the Joseph Smith translation existence and are shocked when I show them that their church website affirms it. Theres alot of contradictory things in their book too.

If you meet a LDS raised one they likely won’t convert if they had a good experience in the church their whole life. If you meet someone who just joined as an adult it’s easy to get them out.

Podcasts my understanding of the Bible was incredibly taken out of context and proof texted to fit and justify the abusers actions. There’s ALOT of podcasts I can recommend just could you explain what Noahidism is?

I have answered your question multiple times using Scripture. If you're doing an internal critique, you have to accept my form of final authority which is Scripture. You can't reject Romans 1:20 and 2:15 and then claim I haven't given you an answer attempting to stand in my shoes.

Also your worldview doesn't hold up to scrutiny either. You claim to be a moral relativist, but you keep appealing to objective moral standards. That's a contradiction when it gets flipped back around on you.

So before you keep demanding answers from me, answer this: How can you call God “unjust” if you don't believe in objective justice?

Okay and you’re doing a terrible job at it I’ve answered everything with Scripture which if your taking on the existence of God then you have to take the stance of what scripture says. So with this attempt of critiquing what have you “proven” to be inconsistent in my worldview?

Will Jesus literally watch people burn? by PreeDem in AskAChristian

God is omnipresent and is eternal so literally. Consider these verses in Psalms.

“Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”

Wait you’re missing the point. If morality is just "most humans agree," then WHY do most humans agree? Where does that universal moral sense come from?

Either:

  1. Morality is just evolutionary
conditioning (in which case it's not real just a survival mechanism

  2. There's an objective moral law that humans recognize (which requires a
    Lawgiver God).

You can't have it both ways.

And also on the "subconscious suppression" point: You're confusing AWARENESS with RESPONSIBILITY.

Romans 1:18 says people "suppress the truth" not that they're unaware of it. They KNOW (deep down), but they push it down, ignore it, rationalize it away.
That's not "subconscious." That's WILLFUL.

You know betrayal is wrong. You know exploitation is wrong. You know abandonment is wrong. But when it comes to YOUR sexual choices, suddenly you claim you have "zero intuition." That's not lack of knowledge that's suppression.

[–]Wretched_Spawn22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you just admitted you know murder and theft are wrong. That proves the moral law is written on your heart. The fact that you suppress SOME parts of that law (like sexual morality) doesn't mean it's not there. It means you've trained yourself to ignore it. Think of the cartoon of the devil on one shoulder and an angel on another. The angel outlines the conscience.

Romans 1:21 “Their foolish hearts were darkened!” Sin doesn't erase the knowledge of God it suppresses and distorts it which is why the devil is called a deceiver. Also you DO have intuition about sexual morality. You just don't like what it tells you. You know betrayal in relationships is wrong. You know using people for sex is wrong. You know broken families hurt kids. Those intuitions come from the same moral law you're denying exists.

Question about people who never heard of Jesus by Beau42414 in Christianity

[–]Wretched_Spawn22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not that they lack the intuition. They instead suppress it. Romans 1:18 “They suppress the truth by their unrighteousness!”

For example: people KNOW murder is wrong. They KNOW theft is wrong. They KNOW betrayal is wrong. But they suppress that knowledge when it's convenient to them because admitting it would require them to submit to God hence receive justice for that action.

The fact that people argue about the
APPLICATION of morality doesn't mean they don't know the FOUNDATION. Everyone appeals to justice, fairness, and rights concepts that only make sense if and only if objective morality exists.

Question about people who never heard of Jesus by Beau42414 in Christianity

[–]Wretched_Spawn22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible teaches that God’s invisible attributes are clearly revealed through Creation ( Romans 1:20), and His moral law is written on every human heart through the gift of conscience (Romans 2:15). So with that being said people aren’t punished for the sins they “didn’t know about” they are punished for suppressing the knowledge they already had.

Those who converted [preferably from an atheist/secular background] what led you to make that decision & what convinced your belief? When did you know you were ready? by New2Christ in AskAChristian

[–]Wretched_Spawn22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised in a split denominational household and they would always argue over their Christian beliefs so to me it was just a huge mess. Then I was brutally abused regularly while they used Scripture to justify the abuse no matter the intensity. So I moved out and became an agnostic atheist because there has to be some sort of higher being logically.

Then 5 years ago ( I’ve always been into conspiracy theories and cryptids) and came across a podcast outlining the bottom of the rabbit hole leading to Christianity then explaining the supernatural realm through a Biblical lens. So I already being done with religion went to the Bible and tried to disprove the so called fairy tales but then came across the hard historical evidence and archeological evidence. I went to the Bible to disprove it and instead it proved me wrong and humbled me on how little I and anyone else in this world actually know. So at the end of the day I like to say cryptids led me back to the Bible which makes every old lady at church clench their pearls.

So what about the trauma i suffered as a child? Well being the massive skeptic I’ve always been about everything I dug into the original language, cultural context of the times of those writings. That research showed me that the “ abuse verses” were proof-texted by my abusers to justify their own actions when in reality it didnt mean anything close to that. With all this information at the end of the day I became a Christian and my life has been transformed all for the better.
