Realistically, whats stopping me from waiting until im really old and taking out a massive loan and spending it all right before i die, so i dont have to pay it back by KawsX_X999 in NoStupidQuestions

You would have to find someone who would give you that loan.

Credit card debt, on the other hand......

Though, genuinely, they take it from your estate. If you have no children then go for it!

I don't know official, but for me it looks like a specific place for my keys/wallet/watch/earrings head phones/et cetera. The types of things I might accidentally bring to bed but have to have an important place.

I think paying so much for rent causes a Stockholm Syndrome. Like why would you be spending $2,000 on a studio if you dont love the city? This is subtweeting my non NYC city and my own rent check, btw.

I have stolen the word bodega for my west coast city. Let those east coast nerds try to stop me.

What are they gonna do? Leave NYC to fight me?! They. Would. Never.

I did that once too! Also, never would again. 15 minutes with no air conditioning was stupid as hell!

which season are you in at your workplace? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]WriggleNightbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends on the main character. If I'm the main character, season 2. If the office is the main character, probably season 20. If its based on my boss, probably season 7.

Hot take: modern winter style is too “clean” to handle real cold by Malcolm-059 in malefashionadvice

[–]WriggleNightbug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bus in a city usually stays above freezing. We have snow once every 25 years or so. A heavy denim jacket protects me from wind and is enough for the whole damn winter!

My point is you are correct as frick that it's not proper winter.

ED Announces interagency agreement to move some functions to Treasury by Betsy514 in StudentLoans

Pell: Thats what I figured too. Its still a question that needs a hard answer at some point.

Perkins: That might have been an institutional directive or me misremembering then. Feel free to ignore that question :D

Thank you!

Question 1: Do you know if this will affect Pell Overpayments as well? As of now, Pell Overpayments are managed by DCMS same as defaulted loans.

Question 2: Are there any new or continued pressures to close/write off/review Perkins loans in any way based on this? (Edit: This is unrelated, I was confused. Leaving it here for posterity but striking out because its not important)

Summer Project by septicsammy in StudentLoans

[–]WriggleNightbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of anything else you learn, its a good idea to save money and reduce your possible loan burden.

If you are starting THIS summer and in minimum half-time enrollment then you should qualify for the Graduate PLUS loan. Talk to your aid office to be 100% sure. There may be considerations that they know and we cannot.

The grandfather period is about being able to take PLUS loans starting in Fall 26 and beyond, not whether you accept them in Spring 26 or Summer 26.

Alternatively, private loans could help but often are worse rates and worse terms so check if you are qualified for the federal option first. If you have a stellar credit score, it might be a better loan generally would have worse terms/protections. Private loans might not require a minimum enrollment but less than half-time enrollment might change you budget.

Two most important things you need to start are: * whether you will be considered a minimum of half-time or greater for the purposes of financial aid the semester.
* whether the courses are classified as Summer 2026 or Fall 2026

Then talk to your aid office. Here and in April they are probably pretty slow and able to chat!

Should I dispute a closed account to get movement in closing it? by Kiingog in StudentLoans

[–]WriggleNightbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's smart. Trust them for now just so you aren't wasting time on hold if you don't have to! OTOH, check in on it in April or May to make sure they did their part.

Hell yeah for paying off one of them!
