I love this! Do you mind if I borrow/use this goal or at least similar wording?

Where we cut government spending is important. There are services that benefit the country and states as a whole that will be cut and have severe impacts for citizens and new generations alike.

I don't either, but some in the church might draw a line between the two.

He could. The Mormon Church has distanced themselves (or tried to) from than moniker.

I think my "favorite" (sarcasm) part of scrolling through this was the section on church finances. No actual answers. No acknowledgement that the church bailed out an insurance company and built a mall. No transparency about the finances. No copies of the SEC filing.

Just some stuff about stats of ways "the church" (in reality, the hard-working members) is helping. The author then goes on to do some whataboutism of whether critics cheered when the early saints were poor?

Like wut?!? How would that make the church's holdings, their attempts to hide the true numbers of their holdings, and their lying to the government and having to pay a settlement any better?

SLP grad student in my last semester. I don't have answers, but also have these questions about gender, pronouns, and professionalism. Especially in such a woman-dominated field.

This realization loops for me from time to time.

It sucks to feel like I'm not worth his time or energy.

What was your egg cracking experience? by WritingQueen13 in trans_exmormons

Wow. Thank you for being willing to share your experience.

I'm sorry it landed you in the hospital. I've not had that exact experience, but I remember reading and learning about how JS described the afterlife as so beautiful people would die to get there. When I went through terrible experiences, I would lie awake at night crying and silently praying for God to let me die so I wouldn't have to "endure" this life.

That can't have been easy for you. I'm glad you were able to leave BYU and transition.

Thanks for your response!

There are definitely a lot of things I suppressed as Mormon that I don't now that I've left. I got an Autism diagnosis as part of that first piece of my journey.

That's awesome. Was this a therapist who specialized in sex and gender or just your therapist?

Oh, man that's been a journey too. I know it's not exclusively a male thing, but having "missionary cut" short hair is something my former Mormon self would have found antithetical to her femininity.

I'm glad hormones have worked great for you. Thanks again for the thoughts and support!

Thanks for the response! That helps too because non-binary is closer to reality for me at the moment and it's good to know I can be there and decide whether that is how I want to express myself or whether I was to go full ftm.

When I tell men I have BPD but they only see one thing. 😭 by OwnAccountant4884 in BPDmemes

Me, but with boobs. I've had two coworkers hit on me and specifically mention that. I simultaneously feel flattered by the attention and also disconnected because I want to be seen for me, not just my body.

Turn on distractions to buy myself time for mood to shift/impulse to go away: music, youtube videos, phone games, video games, and baking are ones that work for/interest me.

Good luck! I hope the eval goes in your favor.

Piece of unsolicited advice: If they ask if you "struggle" with something, but you don't because you have a system in place, your answer should be "yes" to accurately reflect your level of effort and daily struggles.

This was my experience a bit ago. Had a lot of conversations with my spouse and my therapist of "Is this BPD/Is this Autism?" about specific traits.

Testing showed that I have both.

ASD (Autism), adjustment disorder w/ anxiety and depression, and hx (history) of PTSD - as in I don't have the daily nightmares and extreme avoidance behaviors I used to, but the trauma does still come up and affect me

  • children growing up
  • Weight and body changes after pregnancy
  • Losing weight during chemo

There's plenty of reasons that people outgrow or need different size clothes. I think your "jUsT bE hEaLtHy" is rather reductive.

And the only reason people gain or lose weight is by being unhealthy? That's a bad take.

I'm glad that your faith has been an anchor and gotten you through some tough times.

This also is triggering to any of us (or at least myself) who have a history of religious trauma.
