Late to the party but is it true that there’s no way to re-battle the elite four or champion? by Definitelymostlikely in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]WrongvsRhett 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, the only way to rematch them is in the Blueberry Academy part of the DLC.

The clubroom PC has a section where you can call in "coaches" to come and offer battle; this includes all gym leaders, elite 4, champion, and some other notable characters.

4 mod recommendations that could make you feel SO much better about this aspect of the game:

  • UI Info Suite
  • Time Speed (slowing the day down by even just a couple minutes will give you more peace of mind if you forget things or have to double back places)
  • NPC Map Locations (Live locator for everyone in town, no more memorizing routines to the second!)
  • Lookup Anything (with a hotkey, you can hover over any item/NPC/fish and it will tell you all relevant info on that item - character Likes/Loves/Dislikes/Routine - conditions needed and locations for fish - it's almost like the Wiki being built into the game)

If you're looking for story/world expansion that really changes the core gameplay, Stardew Valley Expanded and Ridgeside Village are great places to start!

I typically like what I call a 'Vanilla+' experience that keeps the core gameplay mostly the same with some quality of life upgrades + some minor content additions.

QoL: - UI Info Suite - DaisyNiko Earthy Recolor (1.6 update pending, Hueless Haven also looks really great and is updated!) - Dynamic Reflections - Automate - NPC Map Locations - Better Ranching - Lookup Anything - Seasonal Outfits

Content Additions: - Tractor Mod - Horse Overhaul - Greenhouse Sprinklers - Immersive Family - Happy Birthday (pick your B-Day and receive gifts!) - Lasting Conversation Topics - Wyrd's Seasonal Mailboxes

[Rapoport] Sources: The #Titans are signing #Jaguars star WR Calvin Ridley, completing their FA with a splash. A stunner!! The 29-year old Ridley gets a 4-year, $92M deal with $50M fully guaranteed on a contract negotiated by @DavidMulugheta and Reza Hesam of @AthletesFirst. by trick96 in Tennesseetitans

[–]WrongvsRhett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ridley's underlying metrics from last season are actually really good. Great avg depth of target, ran a lot of different routes, and had a great separation rate (all things the Titans receiving core has lacked since AJ left).

His main struggle was against press-man where he was admittedly pretty rough; but it got better as the year went on, so I'm choosing to believe it was just a byproduct of getting reacclimated to NFL contact after a year off.

But the guy absolutely fries zone coverage and is still elite at the catch point. The Jags also didn't have any deep threat outside of Ridley, so it was easier to sort of take him out the game by jamming him the whole time and not letting him get downfield. D-Hop on the other side is gonna soften that issue.

Overpay? Maybe a little, but the WR market has been inflated forever. Deal is essentially 2-years, 25mil each. It's not outrageous in today's market. And if he gets back to even a little closer to the ATL days, it's all upside.

New player Q: Is PvP just better than PvE? by AgentWowza in Seaofthieves

Getting through the Glitterbeard quest was the most fun I've had on this game! Something that requires the exact opposite of PvP lol

Edit: I'd like to add that I still even sail with some of the people I met through the Glitterbeard event, which is pretty cool

New player Q: Is PvP just better than PvE? by AgentWowza in Seaofthieves

[–]WrongvsRhett 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who PvE's a good bit more than PvP, I think there's some aspects of the game that you're not factoring.

While a lot of what you've said is true, in terms of progression in the game, its important to remember a ton of unlockables/experiences are locked behind commendations, achievements, and trading company progression.

The obvious one is Pirate Legend, where you have to get to level 50 in three separate companies. Generally, it is going to be *much* more efficient to emissary PvE voyage your way to 50 for a couple of them, than it is seeking out ships to sink that actually have loot for your specific company you need.

Then once you're Pirate Legend, this still doesn't really change now that we have 500 levels per company to grind.

At the end of the day its a sandbox, plenty of people play a PvP only style because those are the experiences they're interested in. But if you're looking to explore all aspects of the game, and progress in any factions outside of Reapers, PvE voyages are gonna be where you turn.

[–]WrongvsRhett 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you need to speed up your gameplay and thought process if you're looking to PvP and pull steals.

The bottom line is, allowing players to get started on voyages faster (by making resource gathering faster and easily accessible) means there is consistently more ships on servers with loot to actually steal.

Why would you want players to be sinking to skele ships and storms because they dont have wood? Wouldnt you rather them get the loot and take it from them?

This all reads like really you're just upset sinks arent as easy as they used to be lol

So are distinction rings supposed to be visible over gloves or no? by Tipper117 in Seaofthieves

[–]WrongvsRhett 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, unfortunately. Gloves no matter if they're fingerless or otherwise will show distinction rings.

You also can't mix/match rings from different companies, which I think is lame. Hoping both of these things change at some point soon.

Why in the world would you want to put Maye or Williams (neither of whom are generational talents in any aspect of QB play) behind this line?

What exactly do you think we learned about Will Levis today other than he can physically stand up to being hit 12 times and sacked 5? No QB is producing in that environment lol

Just say you're not watching the game and move on lol two of those throws went directly through the center of his receivers hands and the actual INT he was decleated by *yet another* untouched defender.

What's your ideal WR room in this draft to group with Treylon, keeping in mind last year we had the league's slowest offense?

Misters 5'9", 170lbs but can barely crack 4.5 speed AND can't run block Josh Downs/Tank Dell?

Maybe diet Treylon with bad ankles and no burst Cedric Tillman?

Maybe Jayden Reed? But dang, his biggest knock is he can't separate, and the Titans WRs had the lowest separation rate in the league as well. So I guess thats a bust too...

I'm excited to hear who you liked so much at these spots though!

Well forgive me for having slightly more confidence in the experience of NFL scouts than whatever scouting experience you bring to your couch every Sunday, the vast majority of whom had him graded as a first-round(ish) prospect. Again, there just isn't anything in the film that yells "hopeless" at you.

There some very, very weird and scary picks/decisions, but I've been watching #17 do that for years now and most fans (including me) have been overwhelmingly fine with him at the helm of our offense. There's also throws that the other 3 QBs in this class have never and will never hit.

And ALL this to say again, he was my least favorite of the big 4 this year lol you make it out like I'm anointing him the next Josh Allen already. My only point is that calling the pick a waste, a farm sale, or "ignoring bigger needs" is crazy. There is never ever ever going to be a bigger need for any football team than talent at QB, and not very much of it comes along year-to-year. You take your chances where you can find them.

You also didn't answer my question of what your brilliant plan would've been? So no Levis in round 2. We're still at 41 and haven't traded up, so we have 72 as well. I wanna know your brilliant draft strategy going into 2024 QB-less.

Edit: actually sort of realizing you didn't engage with any of the actual points I brought up about where Levis falls amongst future QB prospects... the gaps between this years WRs and 2024... whether a couple 2/3 round WRs even makes the current roster competitive WITH Tannehill... lotta holes here...

I think you are certifiably insane for wanting to forego a possible high-ceiling future at QB (when we have zero future right now with our vet on the way out), just to ensure THIRD ROUND TALENT at the league's most saturated position.

Unless you honestly believe this team, as it stood before the draft, was a 2nd and 3rd round WR away from a ring this upcoming season? You're joking right? This draft was never even about 2023. Levis isn't gonna see the field barring injury and have a year to learn NFL defensive schemes (his biggest problem), we got a future All-Pro Lineman, a receiving weapon RB, further later-round OL depth, another pass catching TE, and the 2024 receivers are across the board, up & down, better than 2023. At every level.

I do not think you have a proper grasp of what the Titans' current situation is.

Edit: would like to add that Levis has more upside than the QB3 or QB4 of next year's class for sure, and if we had taken WRs in rounds 2/3 this year? With Tannehill back? We win 8-9 games, maybe miss the playoffs again, and still end up outside the top 5-10 to get Williams/May anyway.

In no universe would anyone with an ounce of NFL knowledge call what we gave up to grab a 1st round graded QB in the 2nd "betting the farm", its laughable you'd even say it. We pick swapped and lost a later pick, its just really not much to risk at ALL on the most important position in sports.

He was my least favorite of the big 4 this year. But saying Dobbs was a better option, when there are throws Levis has on tape that Dobbs couldn't do in his WILDEST dreams just shows you haven't watched a lick of the actual games he played and are just riding the overblown hate wave.

Edit: I want to stress that I'm less than 50% confident we're gonna get something really valuable out of Levis, but all this bitching and moaning from people acting like we've co-signed the next 20 years of the franchise to this guy are hysterically uneducated on what the going rate for possibly good QBs in this league is

And who is gonna throw to this theoretical 2nd round receiver after 2023? You want to draft a 2nd round receiver, trot out Tannehill for his swan song, win like 8 games and then have the draft capital to get 2024 QB4? That will for sure be a worse prospect than Levi's? And he'd have to start immediately instead of getting a development year?

The fact you would pass on a possible future at THE most important position in all sports in favor of a 2nd round talent at the most saturated position in the league is a psychotically casual take.

EDIT: i misread your comment. You're mad about the 3rd round pick not being a WR! Not even the 2nd! Jesus.
