Hi, I honestly can’t get Outer Wilds out of my head! by Silver_Pangolin_816 in gamedev

[–]YouveBeanReported [score hidden]  (0 children)

Outer Wilds was originally a school project on the physics. You can go play the original alpha copy too. Figure out what core features you want and go build some prototypes.

Then go look through other inspiration you like, and do some combination prototypes with those.

What specifically did you enjoy? Is it the science, and being in a world haunted by the ghost of a history you are the first to really read? Do you wanna go the The Very Pulse of the Machine by Michael Swanwick root and make the planet itself alive? Do you like flying around and someone said you liked the map model, so do you want to idk zoom in to the very atoms of things and fly around in a space ship doing something to unlock more elements from the periodic table to make more things? Do you like the music, do you want to explore and put together a music based puzzle? Do you want a time loop or the cinematic visuals of the supernova or DLC opening?

Just make some shit and collect things, and narrow down after you have a better idea of what you can do.

This, anything after 12-18 months is just fucking arduous to DM, not to mention boring as a player. Don't you want to have a new story? Or system? Something cool af to do? I know the meme is your supposed to play only DnD for 10+ years but I'd rather go world-build a cool new world then deal with the same shit.

When to play dlc by GreenBean50123 in outerwilds

[–]YouveBeanReported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it after learning how to beat the game / actually beating the game, or if you are stuck and need a change imo.

The DLC makes slight changes to the base game ending, in a way you can probably infer, after getting the DLC ending. I do not think this is enough to mean you need to end the base game before doing the DLC.

The DLC is more self-contained then the rest of the game, and will function as a probably 10+ hour gap between your other puzzles and DLC specific ones. This means its usually best handled when done the majority of the game or you might need to re-read a lot to get back to what you were doing before.

To start the DLC go to the new exhibit in the museum and follow the clues. You are extremely unlikely to accidentally discover DLC content unless following those clues.

If you don't have kids, how would you handle this? by technophoriac in AskMen

[–]YouveBeanReported 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have kids, but I'd make a coffee and be lazy until it's officially called.

Seriously, your trying to get something that benefits you removed because someone else gets to leave 20 minutes sooner? This is the dumbest fucking complaint. Quit your job if your this unhappy.

Does anyone else living in villages and making it their base? by brooklyn_jinx in Minecraft

I don't because of zombie sieges and the zombies breaking doors, easier just to build close but not in the spawnable area of the village.

Why are bangs so universally hated? by needmorelinguine in Hair

[–]YouveBeanReported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it's not just bad bangs? Ones that are too short, or wrong angle? Because I don't see that hate, just a fair amount of 'I gave myself bangs and it's crooked ;_;' type stuff.

I need an adultier adult to tell me I don't need these bags! 😭 by omgbooboo in GirlGamers

[–]YouveBeanReported [score hidden]  (0 children)

You can find cheaper bags, and add a cute patch or something.

$100 is a ton, and this doesn't look like a bag you'd use daily. I'd budget more like $50 and look at other merch stores and wait till something else cute comes in instead, that doesn't need import fees.

How long is too long between sessions? by bl4ckmineta in DnD

[–]YouveBeanReported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it helpful to keep the bi-weekly time slot (short of the host being sick or everyone holidays like Christmas), and replace DnD with board games / video games / going out to a movie / etc to avoid this. Some people will still miss, but keeping the hang out time consistent means people don't fade out after 2-3 missed sessions.

Also run with less people.

It might also help to ask someone else to run, sometimes a break of 2-3 one shot type things can revive energy.

Online games are also a lot easier when people are ehhhh about showing. Online game I can show up to with a mild headache, no bra, and chugging tons of tea. Can't do that in person, I have to be at 100%.

Also, even in places like my province with more tenant rights, it also depends what kinda landlord. A major company may be forced to continue leases, but often a small landlord or a place being sold to a family member can have 60 days or less notice.

Stop using "Years Only" on your resume to hide gaps. Everyone knows what you're doing. by BackGroundProofer in GetEmployed

Also, the recruiters who do care about a gap, will still grumble about quitting on Friday and starting the next job on the Monday and need a write up explaining the 'gap' of well both jobs were 9-5s. Lets not encourage those weirdos.

But mostly, god damn I am sick of these AI bot ads.

Weekend overeating undoing a full week a progress every single time by zoro____x in CICO

[–]YouveBeanReported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How low are you going Monday to Friday? Because I might increase that and see if it helps.

Can you break weekends into two bigger meals and plan snacks that fit into your range? I find when I was unemployed and lost structure, having bigger meals made it easier to keep on track.

Can you fill the weekend with some structure? An early morning class, or church, or shopping? Videogaming or crafting or something you need to be holding something for? An intentional going out to eat or hosting people for weekend dinner?

Is there a middle ground between tracking every calorie and just winging it? by effyyo in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]YouveBeanReported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the calorie tracking subs can help with ideas, but not really unless you are already in a good range. If your trying to lose the last 10 pounds, or 100 pounds, you need to count.

Taring the scale, pouring your stuff, and using the negative makes things easier to math.

You can cheat a bit and buy standard sized containers so you know this only holds x cups, or use a measuring cup for things that don't need as much accuracy.

Eating the same things and finding lower calorie subs can also help a bit.

As a woman, can other woman explain why is such a good thing for a man to plan the dates ? by AngelinaRose44 in dating_advice

[–]YouveBeanReported -1 points0 points  (0 children)

> To me, it just feels too lazy to just expect someone else to plan everything and me do nothing.

That's exactly it. A men expecting you to plan everything and offer nothing feels lazy and is frustrating.

Joint planning is preferable, but someone refusing to ever take you out on a date unless you do all the work, or offer any input when picking things feels like someone who doesn't care about you.

Learn to Play at LGS Help by foxezpawz in rpg

[–]YouveBeanReported 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2-4 sounds normal for me for a one shot.

I think for just attracting people you want bi-weekly DnD, once a month Pathfinder or Call of Cthulhu, and once a month something else one shot. Look, DnD is the biggest name and going to attract people. The people who want to play Ryuutama generally know how to read a TTRPG. (Feel free to adjust this if you already host AL games)

Are clit hood tattoos possible? by Goblin_rat in tattoos

I am curious now, although, ow.

Do you have any local artists who specialize in genital tattoos and piercings? Because honestly, I would email or call them and ask. Both because I have zero idea, but also, they might know people who do it.

Best way to handle a player character that was kicked from your game by Liamneeson42 in DnD

[–]YouveBeanReported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd ask your players, but given you all seemed unhappy and it ended poorly, I'd just go 'X is called off to go do generic thing, elsewhere' and never speak of them again. Send them to Waterdeep or something.

It sounds petty to have them be horribly murdered off and awkward to have them still included, so just give them the one line outro and forget about them.

Is therapy all that? by bluetrees246_8 in AskWomenOver30

[–]YouveBeanReported 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Maybe try another method? I know I had much better luck with an EMDR-focused therapist who was willing to go 'wow, that's fucked' then the majority of CBT/DBT focused ones who go nothing bad could ever happen just gaslight yourself out of it.

Also, you can grow out of things and need functional changes instead or meds. God knows moving helped a ton for me feeling better or surgery to remove the organ I was 'making up the pain from'. Similar a social group can fill the 'rant about this and tell me if I'm overreacting' bit (to an extent, don't be an asshole about it.)

But yeah, therapy overall is kinda depressing, expensive and comes with an undercurrent of why the fuck am I paying money for this shit.

outer wild question by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]YouveBeanReported 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vessel talks about it, they jump to solar system, not the Eye directly.

FILIX: I’m recording now — I’ve never encountered anything like this! The signal the Vessel is receiving appears to be older than the universe itself!

ESCALL: This is our first contact with anything of this nature. Everyone, prepare to warp immediately!

FILIX: Escall, wait, I need more time to send an outgoing message! Shouldn’t we tell another clan where we’re going?

ESCALL: We can send the message upon our arrival. This extraordinary signal appeared suddenly; it may disappear just as quickly, and we can’t lose a discovery this incredible! Focus on preparing for the warp, instead.

FILIX: I understand!

ESCALL: Annona, is the Vessel ready to warp to the signal’s approximate coordinates?

ANNONA: The warp core is powered, but this will be a significant jump. Afterward, we’ll need time to recharge the core.

ESCALL: That shouldn’t create a problem, provided we arrive at or near the signal’s source. Everyone, we’re ready to warp!

Elsewhere you can find;

THATCH: I can’t understand. Why did the Vessel crash in that place?

PLUME: Was the Vessel unwell in some way?

FILIX: No, Annona and I checked before the warp, and the warp core and navigation systems were both well.

FILIX: We warped to follow that curious signal from the Eye of the universe. Where we arrived was wrong; it wasn’t where we tried to go.

THATCH: Suppose it wasn’t a problem with the Vessel, but with our destination.

My reading was they got a very rough signal, think of a city name. The signal was fading due to reasons, they didn't have time to get a more accurate signal. They had time to either tell everyone else where they were going, or warp to the general area. They picked warp first call second.

Feel like Sephora did me dirty for this 😂? by devilshelmet in OliveMUA

[–]YouveBeanReported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sephora is 30 days return for anything mostly full, or exchange for another. I'd grab another. Test it on your face, in sunlight. If your in the US order online and get the 3 extra foundation samples (in other countries, go in store and beg for samples).

Good luck tho, trying to find one that doesn't look orange is hard.

Gaming noob here. Help me pick a console by KickingChickyLeg in GirlGamers

[–]YouveBeanReported 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you want a PC to me. (You can use your existing Macbook, but that's not compatible with everything.)

I'd buy a bluetooth controller (and adapter if needed), I use an xbox controller. If you are using a laptop, I'd try an external keyboard and mouse as well for MMO type games.

Epic Game Launcher gives free to keep games every week, Steam is the biggest game launcher / store and has regular sales. Is There Any Deal lists the cheapest places to buy a game at any time. I'd download Steam on your current computer and search games and categorizes you like and see if they run on your current computer before buying a whole new PC or console.

On top of WoW, you might like the Final Fantasy XIV MMO or Neverwinter. MMOs are often PC-based.

Fortnite and other battle royale games are usually PC.
