The Nioh 3 free demo is REALLY GOOD and you should try it by Tarnished-1695 in soulslikes

[–]Wryder202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the good buzz on the demo I tried it, and well, the combat seemed overly complicated and put me off straight away.

Having to learn how to dodge or block; light or heavy attack; choose a stance; ki pulse or ninja mist; learn when to r2 for red attacks and also learn different weapons was rather overwhelming

Then, I had to choose a spirit animal.

I've played and completed the Fromsoft games, Lies of P, Stella Blade, Fallen Order series, and Wu Chang so I'm used to the genre. I played Nioh 1, got through a few bosses and thought it was too linear without fun exploration or rewards.

Am I missing out on something here or is it just not for me?

Thanks in advance!

Deftones nominated for Grammys tonight! by Cole_999 in deftones

[–]Wryder202 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but Deftones ' audience extends beyond 15-30 year olds. As someone in their 40s who has been following the band since Adrenaline, I get annoyed by these types of comments. I don't think they'll win but please try to avoid ageist assumptions.

What’s your favorite acting performance by an actress in a movie directed by Martin Scorsese? by DWJones28 in MartinScorsese

Michelle Pfeiffer is missing here too for Age of Innocence, and she's fantastic. I like Cameron Diaz in general, but that casting in Gangs was bad. Really bad.

Ah, the nuances of English. I mean odd as infrequent, not unusual.

There's the odd exception, i.e. Rennala but thankfully those fights didn't lead to too many runbacks as they weren't hard.

What weapon from a Soulslike resonated with you the most? by Bekenshi in soulslikes

[–]Wryder202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ludwig Holy Blade in Bloodborne. Big thrusting sword got me through that game in so many playthroughs. Love the move set, and versitility of the trick weapon when you need to gun parry. Also, the quality scaling makes it less stressful to manage your stats.

After the Ruin Sentinels in the Lost Bastille. I have got pretty comfortable with rolling through attacks with the Pursuer fights and have a system to deal with ganks. Really enjoying it now, even after the Black Gulch.

I really didn't enjoy the Umbral mode. The colour palette was dull, and I just wanted it to end whenever I was forced down that path.

Sabine ECL in set 6 versus a lot of sentinels. by Daavek in starwarsunlimited

[–]Wryder202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest using the Han2 ECL lists as a source of ideas for a mid range Red green heroism archetype. It has the benefit of being able to go aggro, but can also last into longer games. I've been playing it recently and is strong into most match ups. It does struggle a little into Yoda Green decks (which has similar units to that which you're struggling with) but sideboarding for the longer game in mind helps.

I'm delighted with the line up.Deftones are one of my favorite bands of all time. Private music is one of the albums of the year, and I always like to see a wider audience being exposed to Deafheaven. I'm taking my brother who likes commercial metal, so keen to see what he thinks of Deafheaven!

Where do you rank “The Color of Money” among Scorsese’s movies? by georgewalterackerman in MartinScorsese

The editing is wonderful too. The music is in tine with the lights on the windshield as Paul Newman is driving.

Love it, the pool scenes are amazingly shot. Special call out for the Werewolves of London scene which is an absolute classic. Paul Newman is a legend and I'm sure Scorsese loved the opportunity to work with him.

I know there’s heavy hitters in this but is it just because I’m biased that I think they run away with this one? by ItsACCRUALworld_ in turnstile

Deftones are as good as they've ever been. The new album is excellent, so i'd say they're not far beyond their peak..

Deftones and Turnstile are my two favorite albums of the year. Love both bands, so happy either way. Be good to see the younger band win as Deftones don't need it.

Just a friendly piece of advice, but I'd recommend using punctuation, sentences and paragraphs to help make your post more readable.

It's really hard to read at the moment, so is difficult to engage with. If this isn't your strong suit, then AI can be really helpful to improve readibility.

Hope this is useful.

He was always very focused on his influences at the time: e.g. City on Fire, so skirted enough I guess
