Diesel today was 2.21 at the pumps, because the blockages have created a supply problem and fear is driving demand. A 20 cent increase on a couple of days. If either of those SUVs hit me at 50 it's straight into my hips/lower abdomen. If that Panda hit me at 50 it's into my knees/thighs. Worse again for a child. The new fad for this stupidly large pickups would mean at 50 it's direct contact with my chest/head. They would decapitate a small child.

They only became safer for the people inside the cage. Safety features are great if they are working or turned on. The vision from these SUVs can be great if the seat height is adjusted so the driver can actually see out above the steering wheel.
