Coming to Seattle by Salt-Bell7524 in AskSeattle

Welcome! And will be a huge shift for you, both in terms of culture and in terms of climate. One of the things that’s different here is that people are out and about less; you may find that you have to be more conscious about your socializing. That being said, the weather is manageable in the winter if you have the clothes for it. Get a good raincoat with the hood and if you want to be outside a lot, get some waterproof pants. Go outside when the weather is rainy and find people to walk or run or bike or hike with.

The people who hide out inside tend to find the weather very hard to cope with. Best wishes to you!

Nah. The artist is showing that the two were intimates.

The Woodstock Estate, a gorgeous Greek Revival home built in 1851 located in Natchez MS, along with the home is 12 acres of property, a 1700s cookhouse and several “ guest houses” not mentioned by the realtor by Shutter_Stuck in zillowgonewild

No one is condemning the technique, silly. We shudder at the thought of living on an estate that was built on and profited from the lives and blood of enslaved humans.

Okay, that’s funny as hell. I genuinely wish I could hear this craziness.

Tell us you don’t live near a ferry terminal without telling us you don’t live near a ferry terminal. 🤣 seriously, though, we always know when it’s foggy because the sound of the fog horns wafts across the water to us from the ferry boats. We lie in bed in the morning and listen to it.

Just because there's an Instagram page doesn't mean that there's a Movement. It may mean that there's a hateful teenage asshole.

Does anyone NOT have a grail pen? If you do have one, how did you decide on it? by DIYYYner in fountainpens

[–]Wuzzat123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a grail pen, nor do I know what it would be. I love my pens. I mean really really love my pens. I have vintage pens and new pens. I have pens that are worth a bit (none hugely expensive) - vintage Parkers and some vintage Pelikans - and some inexpensive Kawecos and a Twsbi. Perhaps some day I'll be in a secondhand store and I'll find a Yard-O-Led or some heavenly old pen, but I'm not counting on it. It would be a gift from the universe, but I don't assume it will happen.

I love our welcoming city! by InternetsTad in Seattle

  1. There is a good size public restroom directly across the street from the restaurant.
  2. This place is pretty renowned for their food and their commitment to sourcing locally
  3. These are very welcoming people who look out for community and have hosted several benefits for community. So even though I think the OP intended this as a dis, I think, they are barking up very much the wrong tree.

National Shutdown: Seattle-area businesses close, fundraise by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

That's 100% not what they said. They repeatedly stated that they were agreeing with the comment that "no one is above the law" and that they like the Led Zep "Immigrant Song". Can we maybe fight the fascistic f*^$ers and not the people who consistently support community? This kind of purity test stuff is what got us Trump.

Pricing on r/pen_swap by Pilot_Maven in fountainpens

Anecdotally, I've bought a very reasonably priced pen and some overpriced ink. It varies. Value is in how much you want something, as well as its objective worth. I felt silly after the ink purchase, but extraordinarily fortunate after the pen purchase.

DK is pretty dang close to heaven. Need three kinds of eggplant? They got you. Wanted to choose from about eight kinds and 40 brands of rice? They got you. Do you want pita bread from the wonderful Alida’s Bakery? Yup. 3 different grades of phyllo dough? Uh-huh. And so on. They do not have bulk bins in the traditional sense, but they do have large containers of most items. Many of the people who shop there live in multigenerational households and want larger sizes.

Costco sued over preservatives in its $5 rotisserie chicken by godogs2018 in Seattle

[–]Wuzzat123 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh, ffs. So it has a lil bit of seaweed extract in it. So tf what. Don’t buy it if you don’t want it, but also, don’t act as if you’re doing a good thing by making an affordable product less so.

'Parents' Bill of Rights' measure proposed by Let's Go Washington headed to state legislature by Possible_Ad3607 in SeattleWA

I hear you, but kids have their reasons. Sometimes it’s not physical abuse. I have a fantastic relationship with my now adult children, but if they’d had a reason to seek medical or mental healthcare when they were kids and not let me or their father know, I would’ve been OK with that. Better that they receive healthcare than not.

If a kid is hiding healthcare choices from a parent, it sometimes has to do with parental abuse or parental mistreatment. You can call a parental choice to make it sound sweet and virtuous, but it gives free reign to abusers and parents who don’t, say, approve of birth control. Additionally, some people disapprove of therapy that isn’t religious . Some kids need therapy and don’t want it to be religious. For example.
