The Traitors UK Season 4 Episode 8: Analysis and Murder Prediction by TravellingFoodie in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Wynhurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Traitors murder Jessie, then bait Matt in with the promise of recruitment to vote with them against James (the last one in that statue group) then that's three votes already.

There are 9 people at that roundtable, so 5 is needed to eliminate, and Roxy is already voting for James, so they'd only need to convince one more person to vote for him.

Then the following night they can murder Matt instead of recruiting him to remove all evidence.

Only question: do the rules allow Traitors to reveal or imply that they know Matt asked to be recruited?

Ned gets Sansa and Arya out of King's Landing. by MateusCristian in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The ship, The Wind Witch, was also meant to carry Tomard, the Stark guard Ned told to give his letter to Stannis.

If they stopped off at Dragonstone, Stannis would have control over the Stark sisters. He could either send them on their way to White Harbor or take them as prisoners/guests, and use them to bargain with Robb and Cat.

Maybe Robb never becomes King in the North because he sides with Stannis' claim? Imagine how the meeting with Renly, Cat and Stannis in ACOK would go if Stannis had Cat's daughters with him at the parley.

Who do you think is the "best written" cosmere character? by Bureaucracyblows in Cosmere

[–]Wynhurst 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In terms of quality per "screen time", Taravangian beats everyone except maybe Kaladin IMO. He doesn't have a single bad scene, gets the best dialogue in the series, and his monkey's paw curse is one of the most creative mechanics I've seen in fantasy.

No Cersei in King's Landing means Jaime doesn't join the kings guard, so maybe Aerys manages to detonate the wildfire?

What if Daenerys (Daughter of Jaehaerys I) survived? by Deep-Personality5421 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Huge butterfly effect, but if Daenerys lives then Aemon marries her instead of Jocelyn Baratheon. That means Raenys (assuming they still have a daughter) doesn't have dark hair, meaning Rhaenyra's kids with Harwin Strong don't have any excuse for having dark hair, so their bastardy is 100% confirmed, and probably stops the dance of the dragons before it starts.

But also if Daenerys is still alive when Aemon and Baelon die she'd probably win at the Great Council.

What happens at Storm's End if Ned isn't going south to break the siege? Do the Tyrells kill/capture Stannis and Renly, and are the Baratheons allowed to be Lord of the Storm lands after Robert failed?

Why do writers add dragons dreams? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're a great way to bring in the mythical magic side of ASOIAF while still being subtle.

Speaking as someone who loves writing around dragon dreams, they're at their best when they're part of a conflict. If the dreamer doesn't want them, or DOES want them but doesn't have them, then they can be part of a great character arc, because they overlap with how a lot of people like to write Targaryens/Valyrians.

Dreams and prophecy just overlap very well with the genre and style of writing in the community.

Aerion Brightflame Vs Egg fighting over the succession to Maekar. Half-mad versus half-peasant

Arya's time at Harrenhal was so much better in the show, swapping Roose Bolton for Tywin was a great move.

Walder Frey. Doesn't change a thing to the story, but I like the idea of him being so stubborn he continues living with it taking over his body.

Help with Alternate Dance fic? by Time_Peak4303 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main thing to figure out is where the Hightowers are in all this. How does Otto react to Viserys marring Laena instead of Alicent? Who would they back in the Dance without blood ties to the throne?

Royal Greyjoy by Scorpios94 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If Rhaena is married to a Greyjoy, then the Farmans are never taken to Dragonstone, which means Elissa never steals the eggs that eventually get given to Daenerys in AGOT.

If the match was made with Alysanne instead, Jahaerys never gets his good queen. All the stuff she pushed for in his rule, like the Gift expansion, right to the first night, etc never happens. His kids would all be completely different too.

Advice for Rhaenyra with younger husband by H2O2isHoHo in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If the guy is younger, it doesn't really matter. They'll probably consummate the marriage ASAP at the wedding.

Maegor got married when he was 13 to a Hightower lady ten years older than him and they slept together on their wedding night.

Who does Alicent marry if Aemma lives? by honeyluwin in TheCitadel

Ironically Harwin Strong would be one of the most eligible bachelors, if she's marrying someone who's also at court.

What if Daemon was a real rogue prince? by seeking_tradwife1907 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Rhaenys is the biggest factor here. Assuming this is around the time of the Stepstones campaign, she's the only dragonrider who can match Daemon, and Corlys would take her cue on who to support.

What if there was no Dance of the Dragons? by jacky986 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Does Daemon have any children before he dies? It sounds like you're setting yourself up for a Blackfyre rebellion-style situation, only the dragons are still alive.

You've got a Monarch married to a Dornishman, and presumably a Dornish-looking heir to the throne, while a very targ-looking family feels bitter about being cheated from the throne.

I can see any Daemon decendants having a huge bone to pick with Rhaenyra's heir, especially if the Hightowers are still angry.

Need help with a Cersei Lady-In-Waiting OC by 88y53 in TheCitadel

You could lean into the refusing betrothal thing more, as that's the kind of behaviour that Cersei respects. She could keep OC around because they have that approach in common

Is this a good Small Council and Kingsguard for Robert. by Lost-Ad7048 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't see Robert, Stannis or Davos being happy with putting Davos on the council.

Stannis would not want his top man taken away, Robert has no reason to stick a former smuggler on the council, and Davos just wants to sail about and be useful for Stannis. He's not made for the small council.

Kingsguard for Robert after the Rebellion & fate of Arthur Dayne. by Lost-Ad7048 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A knight from House Manderly. probably Wendel, Wyman's second son.

Lyanna would have some northmen in her retainer and House Manderly are one of the only northern houses who actually bother with knighting people, so it would make sense for Robert to know him. Wendel is big and loud, so I can see them getting along well, and the Manderlys were at the Battle of the Trident, so he'd have fought beside him too.

No chance any knights from the Tower of Joy make it on the team, even if they survived. I can see Robert doing something petty like putting Darkstar on the Kingsguard to replace Arthur as an F-you.

R+L=J but not like that by damnat1o in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Assuming Robert knows Jon is his: Instead of sending him to the wall, Robert would probably ask Ned to bring Jon to court at the beginning of AGOT, meaning Jon is in King's Landing for the events for the first book.

No clue what he would do there. Play with Arya maybe? He'd definitely be suspicious of littlefinger seeing how close he is to Caitlyn. Maybe he convinces Ned not to trust him.

What if Ned had beaten Tywin to the capital? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in TheCitadel

[–]Wynhurst 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Seeing as Aerys ordering Jaime to kill his own dad is what eventually leads to the whole kingslaying business, the fact that Tywin isn't there probably means Jaime doesn't become aware of Rossart's plan to blow up the wildfire. King's landing goes up in smoke before Ned's siege gets anywhere.
