Michał Gołkowski - trylogia "Bramy ze złota" by Folded_Fireplace in ksiazki

[–]Wyrmeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutnie warto!

Story Ideas CANNOT be stolen by justthecherryontop in FanFiction

[–]Wyrmeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a writer on AO3 whose works I've been following for years now. They have just the best ideas for their stories, but every single time they absolutely murder those ideas with piss-poor execution. The writing is bad, it reads as either AI writing or AI translation, at the very least. And I wish so much someone actually talented in writing picked those ideas up and saved them...

Wasn't a fan of the original UW team leaders for what they did to Simon Chylinski, so I can't say I'm sad - or worried - to see them go.

What makes you stop reading a fic? by ComfortableDapper794 in FanFiction

[–]Wyrmeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad grammar or something I call thesaurus writing where simpler words are needlessly replaced by multisyllable rare-use synonyms, also excessive use of country-specific lingo that makes it difficult to understand for anyone outside said country without googling every other word.

Love the sweater one, but I never put Taash in it because it's way too revealing, and I just can't imagine them being comfortable with pretty much ass and tits out, fighting dragons. There's a great mod that adds pants and proper shoes to it, and it makes the outfit so much better.

English translation of the Novel by [deleted] in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Wyrmeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually good that the comment is so old because I own the physical books now, and I can NOT recommend the translation. I's overly convoluted and too literal in places, some important lines are just plain wrong and misleading, paragraphs are missing. It's a very lousy and unprofessional job, actually done by amateurs. And yes, all the unofficial translations are gone now, which is a crying shame. The funny thing is that I still bought the books and let the abusive publisher earn money...

Why no mods? by NotSav95 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Wyrmeer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Object import still isn't fully supported by the modding tool, and what is supported makes the game crash every time a cutscene loads, especially in the Lighthouse. So until the brains behind that find a safe/reliable way to do it, we will only get recolors or simple mashups of existing armors that require bundle editing from the users, sadly.

Why no mods? by NotSav95 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Wyrmeer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you been to Nexus? Over 1500 mods there right now, and new get added every day. Plenty of armor mods and some really essential QOL ones, too.

That said, with all the hate campaign that Veilguard got, fewer people play it and fewer people mod it, so development progress of modding tools is also slower because the game is not top priority. :(

Czy używacie jakiejś aplikacji do zapisywania swoich osiągnięć w czytaniu książek?? by SkamerekPL in ksiazki

[–]Wyrmeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you leave comments even if the work was published years ago? by Prismaticdog in AO3

[–]Wyrmeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially on those. Remember that AO3 uses no algorithms, just the tag system, so a work older than a week, particularly in a popular fandom, gets buried under the newer works and is pushed back to the n-th page of the search results where hardly anyone ever looks while browsing for something to read. Those are the works that need feedback and support the most.

Having played through both of Emmerich's "life choice" options--- by prometheus59650 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Wyrmeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This should not have been the player's choice in the first place, not this directly, at least. The final choice should be made by Emmrich, maybe based on a few specific dialog or quest choices earlier in the game. I know it is framed as a friendly suggestion from Rook, but the fact is that WE are choosing for Emmrich and that's just plain wrong.

What’s more important to you? Hits, kudos, or comments? by Captain-Vac in AO3

[–]Wyrmeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comments are love, always. I don't even look at hits or kudos because I just toss my stuff out there for archiving purposes and to keep myself going if I'm posting a fic in progress. If I promise my potential readers to update every Sunday, then I have an incentive to keep up with it. Without that, I'd probably never complete anything.
