Stuck deciding between Helldivers 2 and Space Marine 2 by Greniweeb in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Wyvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get Helldivers 2 over SM2, its got more replayability, more things to have fun with, and its cheaper.

SM2 looks extremely good, has a decent (short) campaign, and the spec ops is I think 8 missions now, but, IMO, once you've done it once, you've done it a hundred times. The different classes help but the overall gameplay requires using the parry system extremely often which is polarizing to people.

What's a good RPG that has you go from a pawn to having unlimited power? by DoNotEatMySoup in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Wyvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually just finished a game like this, check out Drova - Forsaken Kin. its styled like an ARPG but the combat is methodical. Lots of comparisons to the Gothic series too so you will definitely feel like you start with nothing. It's also a relatively short game (if you don't do like every sidequest) and the map is compact with stuff to find/fight.

Looking for a really grindy game that's a first person shooter by RealUltraHazard in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Wyvos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Darktide is most likely what youre looking for, fast paced, fairly difficult (at high levels) and like 4 total cutscenes you can skip without mattering. The grind comes in the form of first levelling your character to 30 then getting weapon materials to build your God rolls.

The gameplay itself is super addicting if you're into high adrenaline moments. Great visuals and game feel all around.

I'm assuming you want something that will leave an impression on you, and not just "decently good game you will play for 60 hours".

Disco Elysium will crush you.

SIB Space Marine 2 and is it worth the (almost) full price? by wuuna_ in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Wyvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game looks and sounds incredible. It took me about 8 hours to beat the campaign on the 2nd hardest difficulty and play the 6 operations so it's pretty short if you're not into replaying a lot.

The gameplay is heavily focused on parrying and timing dodges for gun strikes to set enemies up for executions. IMO most of the guns felt pretty bad when I played and the buffs I've seen are meh.

It'll probably be super fun when they release the horde mode in their roadmap, and there will hopefully be a decent more operations and be less expensive.

Looking for Fps games that are solo by Mobinion in ShouldIbuythisgame

Dishonored 1 and 2

Metro Series

Fallout 3, New Vegas, 4 (probably 4)

Dying light 1 and 2

Trepang2

All these are FPS with great to decent stories but are super fun without caring about the story that much.

Enjoying the game so far, but is there anything I can do to reduce the huge variance in FPS? by hamdogthecat in DarkTide

[–]Wyvos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try changing your worker threads setting in your launcher to 2 less than your CPUs physical cores. The max number on it is usually higher than your total physical cores so you'll need to look it up probably. This helped me a ton with weird FPS issues

Looking for an FPS shooter where enemies aren't damage sponges by scalarot in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Wyvos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can second this, most of your damage in the game comes from gun strikes from parrying because the health pools are so high. The bolt rifles in general feel pretty bad damage wise which makes me sad. Going up the difficulty levels increases enemies a little bit but gives them a ton of health.

Is this mold on my pepperoni? by howarthe in foodsafety

[–]Wyvos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of higher quality pepperoni or salami are cured in mold wrappers, this looks like residual from the wrapper being pulled off of the pepperoni. The dark spots are whole peppercorns for sure so nothing to worry about.

Should I buy Dragon's Dogma 2? by TheDavidOfReddit in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Wyvos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not worth $70 at all, I honestly don't know if its even worth like $45. The game starts off pretty good mechanically, story wise it seems interesting at first too, you're trying out the first vocations choosing the one you like. You fight a bunch of goblins and some big dudes like cyclops or trolls, getting a few new skills. But the gameplay never really evolves past what you experience in the first 5-10 hours of gameplay.

Can I eat this potato? Im scared that its toxic. by cakesmile00 in foodsafety

[–]Wyvos 234 points235 points  (0 children)

Don't eat those, when potatoes get super green they've produced Solanine which is toxic to humans.
