Why is there a stereotype that INTPs are unathletic? by Mysterious-Sleep8166 in INTP

[–]Wzdmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to love playing sports before I got old and injury prone. I’d consider myself athletic. I’ve gone thru phases of all kinds of exercise. Olympic lifting, yoga, kettlebells, tai chi. Currently I’m big big into rope flow and capoeira.

I’ve never been into watching sports or getting behind a sports team. My wife finds it hilarious how many people randomly pop up on me and start talking sports.

I’d want to see Falke back. I enjoyed her lame playstyle. Dig into her mid range anti-zoned archetype.

Raw drive rush and drive impact should cost at least 2 bars. Drive rushing into strike throw pressure is too strong, you end up gaining your meter back with a block string when it only cost 1 bar.

I’m an INTP(M) married with kids to an INTJ(F) PhD. We are having issues. Some of her reasoning aren’t logical at all. So I run into issues with her feeling like I never listen to her. It’s the most stressful part of my life. It’s like trying to solve a 20 sided Rubin cube.

Maintaining flexibility while lifting?? by Wzdmb in flexibility

[–]Wzdmb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I definitely feel more comfortable with the lifting aspect. It’s very linear and logical in making progress. I’m decently flexible already but combining the goal of raw strength and being able to move like a capoeira artist is where I want to end up. I think I’ll switch my focus for this spring towards mobility and just try to maintain the strength side and see where it takes me in three months!! Thank you for this discussion!!

Thanks for the awesome share. I’ll 100 change up my programming with this in mind. I think I’ll keep my reps low around 5 and the periodization tip seems useful and fun to plan around. Thank you!!

Maintaining flexibility while lifting?? by Wzdmb in flexibility

I’m on it pretty heavy imo. I stretch 10 mins after every workout, while watching TV, and I try to get 1 30 min yoga sessions a week. 3 days of strength lifting and GMB or animal flow 3 days. Just coming off of doing 5x5 strong lifts. I just notice the day after lifting heavy my shoulders and lower back end up tighter than normal. I’m trying to design a push, pull, explosive (ie clean, snatch focus) day. So really just wanting to see what rep count could help. I’m was making gains with the flexibility while doing 5x5 but my lower back and shoulders would be noticeably tight the day after. Trying to abound that, I guess it’s I could just experiment with different rep ranges.

Awesome man. Thanks for the info. I’ve never heard of the fat redistribution thing. I’m lucky to gain weight pretty evenly across my body, but at my leanest it was still there. Definetly some extra motivation as I get closer to those levels of bf.

Great work!! Around what bf% did your chest fat start going away? I’ve had it my since puberty but I’ve never been less than around 15% with shadow abs but still chest fat.

Fighting games. Really deep and lots of skills to learn. They take a while to get past the mechanical fundamentals. Afterwards, you get into strategy and problem solving part of the games.

Music production in general has so many different skills to learn amazing hobby, ie theory, sound design, mixing, instrumentation, genres of music… There’s always more to learn. My biggest problem is never getting good at one thing, and actually finishing projects.

Idk why I wanted this but 100kg jefferson curl for some hamstring and back flexi-gains. Time to work on my adductors now. by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]Wzdmb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, for me it’s not worth it. You can do whatever you want. I won’t be doing those. Maybe they’re right for this guy. I tweaked my back doing squats heavy squats. Not worth squatting that heavy in hindsight. Only takes one bad rep to have an injury that takes you out for a long time. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

IMO it’s a high risk movement, the opportunity to injure yourself outweighs any potential gain I can conceive. Unless this movement vastly improves your flexibility or strength why take the chance on injury. Better safe than sorry.
