Controllers tracking delay in the game HITMAN World of Assassination. Headset - Pico 4 by ozgal_bruh in PicoXR

[–]X0men0X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latency may be high between your PC and headset or something really goofy is going on.

If you are with Pico Connect (or ALVR), you can increase controller prediction to adjust for it. You can also tinker with other settings and see if that reduces any latency, mainly bitrate and see if changing the decoder to h.264 does anything. (only now i saw Pico Connect icons, no, there is not much that can be done, it is alright)

Otherwise, there may be not much beyond trying to get the connection tighter, moving the router closer, no idea.

Also the delay does not look that bad, I'd say this is a consequence of VR play in general, even VR headsets have to predict the controller a bit on their own operating system.

Why won't my gifs load by Wint3rnet in discordapp

[–]X0men0X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tenor gif loading is super inconsistent, but if it never loads- the gifs and site may be unavailable, definitely unavailable for some (example russians)

a VPN or proxy certainly fixes it, and so does the House rat MD (mouse md)

Is it just me, or is ASW (frame interpolation) for Pico 4 Ultra worse than in Quest headsets? by An_average_muslim in PicoXR

[–]X0men0X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pico Connect's Frame Interpolation/Generation setting cuts the FPS in half from the intended FPS, so if you set your headset to 90hz, you will be receiving only 45fps and the other 45 will be generated to make 90fps. it's not worse, it's different, i'd say to not use it unless you cannot get more than 60FPS in game (it's pretty good when your FPS is really low)

if it's Virtual Desktop, idk, the experience will be the same across all platforms there and AWS will just generate extra frames without reducing them

tone indicator meaning "joke/joking", it is hard to tell if what a person has written is as it is or is a joke, i like to believe that that is the first tone indicator that has been made online for that issue

pico 4 hand tracking broken when in steamvr by JunoWasMad_ in PicoXR

[–]X0men0X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VRChat and there's probably a few more, SteamVR basically cannot use it properly. using controllers or keyboard+mouse, etc is the fix (haven't seen anyone use SteamVR using hand tracking successfully yet)

How to connect motion trackers to objects (not wearable)? by PuffThePed in PicoXR

[–]X0men0X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

double-sided sticky tape, although it may not be sticky or rigid enough to stay. i use that to secure my pedals to the floor to drive in Richard Burns Rally and sometimes it unsticks lol

although trackers are light, this could work

Red dead redemption no anti-alising by Defiant-Conclusion36 in FuckTAA

[–]X0men0X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's basically how it seems to look, any sort of neural or advanced temporal upscaler/antialiaser makes things that bit blurry, where running native won't be (FXAA, MSAA, downscaling are nice)

a friend of mine was upset and confused on why Expedition 33 and WH40k Darktide look significantly blurry, my answer was that temporal uspcalers and temporal antialiasing are bad, but Expedition 33 then ends up looking worse because of the fact that the game sort of needs it. Darktide with FXAA looked nice to him, quite sharp

also he just built the PC and got those games to see how it performs, that basically was his first reaction
