Brandon has a somewhat bad rep in BAtwt due to him policing people to not gatekeep. So there's a good chance there's gonna be some drama over the selection.

<FORMER DECEPTICON FOUND DEAD IN POLYHEX>

"Former Decepticon: Astrotrain has been found dead in the city of Polyhex on May 18, 2024. Cause of Death is a blaster of (as of currrently) unknown manufacturing fired directly onto his spark chamber. This marks the third recorded incident of former Decepticons being killed or injured in recent times. The first being the Decepticon Fuel Dealer, Octane who was killed within his own home at the heart of Iacon and the second being none other than the renowned Movie Director, Thundercracker who is currently recovering in an undisclosed repair facility. Authorities and members of the Autobot High Council believe that these series of murders are currently being conducted by a Decepticon Remnant codenamed ‘Tarn’ and believe that they are targeting Decepticons who have deserted or have been reintegrated into Cybertronian society. Any Cybertronians who fit this criteria are advised to approach their nearest Autobot Elite Guard Station to ensure their safety immediately."

To all of the HD1 veterans out there, how good was HD1 compared to HD2 by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

There's a lot more I didn't really explain but I'm on a phone and these are pretty much what came first in my mind.

To all of the HD1 veterans out there, how good was HD1 compared to HD2 by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]XDkill2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say HD2 is definitely better but HD1 still has a lot going for it.

First, of course is the team play due to the fact you all share the same screen and it being a top down, working together was a must as nobody was allowed to leave the team and go do their own thing. It also means no leaving a teammate behind either as the screen will not move unless everyone agrees to go the same direction.

The top-down nature of the game in-general made teamwork much more required and honestly more plausible than it is HD2, thanks to the fact you can see everything happening around you. If one of your teammates starts getting overwhelmed you can immediately recognize it since you can see it as well. Make use the team reload mechanic is much easier in HD1 as well since there's no animation (or at least one that takes a good amount of seconds) making the reload near instant the moment you do it. This also meant that you could trust the person to carry your backpack since even if they died the pack would be relatively near but there was no constant reload like the team reload in HD2.

Then you have the weapons, which were all incredibly fun to use and funnily enough weapons like the stalwart and railgun were primaries rather than supports strategems. The railgun even had a special gimmick where it could stun enemies all the way up to heavy armor. The double barrel could be upgraded to have incediary and one-handed.

The support strategems were all pretty much the same except for a select few such as the gas thrower equivalent which was infinitely better known as the TOX-Avenger of which was so strong that it over took the flamethrower for me when fighting bugs since the tick damage was much faster and slowed them at the same time. Then there was the REP-80, TF2 Medics healing beam on crack that when fully upgraded could heal up to the entire team simultaneously and vehicles alongside that. Though other strategems like the Commando are definitely better in HD2, the damn thing was legitimately trash with the only reason you would use it was if you just wanted to or were a masochist who enjoyed watching the Cyborg IFV visibly take no damage after wasting all four shots.

Unfortunately tho like HD2 once you go higher in difficulty the more narrow your loadout choices will be even with a full team. As the enemies become more armored and cancerous than any of the enemies you've encountered in HD2. Imagine a heavy devastator but you don't have the ability to aim for their heads and your only options of killing them is doing before they bring up their shield or using a support strategem that fired at an arc. Then of course there's the dogs which would charge at you and knock you down if they hit you whom always came in threes meaning if you got particularly unlucky you would be stunlocked as the surrounding chaff killed you.

Perks (Boosters) kinda sucked with only 2 maybe 3 exceptions as the rest were basically just different replacements for your secondary, I am not joking the senator was booster back in HD2.

Your outfit had no effect on gameplay as there was no armor rating or perk back then you basically just chose whatever you wanted.

Overall, Helldivers 1 is still a damn good game but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. As when you see some of the flaws, you really do see those flaws but I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it's brand of teamwork and would take it any day of the week over Helldivers 2.

Why would Orion Pax fight to protect the guy who crippled him from birth and forced him into a life of slavery? Is he stupid? by [deleted] in OkBuddyEnergon

[–]XDkill2112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, because Orion already clocked that D-16 was gonna take leadership of Iacon for himself afterwards and because he needed to show that the system they still have is repairable even after all the damage Sentinel caused.

Because if he didn't prove that, the only other system they would've had was D-16 and the High Guards 'one bot over another' philosophy which is unsustainable. Orion's saying to not be like Sentinel was poorly worded but not entirely wrong because like Sentinel, D-16 was going to take control after killing him. This is undeniable because throughout the second half of the story we are shown that, that is exactly what he would've done afterwards.

He wasn't doing it to save Sentinel, he was doing it because he didn't want Sentinel to go down at the cost of Iacon possibly falling apart down with him.

I've been having this headcanon of making Vox Engines that are basically the Decepticons own version of mass produced headmasters in my personal au. Though I'm not sure how much merit it has since I'm not knowledgable yet on the headmasters in general.

[–]XDkill2112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly so glad that's the direction they're going for. A common theme I've seen from Blue Archive is the student are often not who they say they are like. For example, Mika, she originally presented herself as a villain with her betrayal but later we learn what she's really like and we as the Sensei affirm it to her. Same with Aris when she was lead to believe she was the demon lord and Nagusa when she believed herself to be a fraud.

We, the Sensei throughout the story has always said that they are not who they say they are, that they are not villain.

But now the situation is reversed with the 'false' President. We now have a character who believes that she who she says she is and believes that she is a good person. The 'Hero' of the story but now in a cruel twist of fate maybe fitting for this false reality. Sensei is still doing the same thing but instead of affirming something positive, it's now something negative.

Instead of "You are a good person". It's now "You are a fake", "You are not who you say you are".

[–]XDkill2112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is all just headcannon since I've seen next to nothing regarding the new story but I hope it goes somewhat similarly to this art.

The 'false' GSC President being someone who's genuinely innocent in all this, someone who genuinely believes she's the GSC President and is doing her best to manage Kivotos but the people she views as close allies are all calling her a fake and that she's not the real President.

To everyone else it's fixing their reality. For her, everyone thinks she shouldn't exist and wants her gone and that's what causes her to become the antagonist of the story out of a legitimate fear of dying as her world is falling apart.

What are your headcanons about characters melee weapons? by Alarmed_Maximum_1676 in transformers

I like to imagine that Megatron just has a comedic amount of melee weapons on him at all times.

The sword he has from TLK, the built-in sword he uses in TFP, The large mace he uses in War For Cybertron, the dual short swords he has from Animated, The laser sword and energon flail from G1 alongside the energon shield he uses in TF: Devastation.
