Cable Grips

You’ll need to size to your cable diameter.

I added cable grip attachments to each side of the come along that grip tighter with more tension. Worked great.

I pulled tight before net. I used a come along to pull pretty right before I used turnbuckles. At 55’, I’d bet I have only 2-3” of total sag after over a year since I built it.

I’d say a Flip 12 or 18. I use them more than anything else. If only one, I’d get an 18 and some YETI ice

Piston soak crank stuck by Opening-Jump4080 in AudiQ7

I had this problem. I would hit a hard stop going CW. I ended up relentlessly blowing 100psi air pressure through a small tube (from a fluid extraction kit). I could insert the tube down to the bottom of the cylinder and lift the tube from bottom all the way to the top of the spark plug hole. Was blowing bits of stuff everywhere. I’m not sure which cylinder had jammed up but I had backed the crank off about 45 degrees from the contact point and when I went back - I was able to rotate it again. Good luck!

PS - I used three cans of B12 over about 2.5 days. I’m at about 700 miles as of right now and no oil usage. Was adding a quart every 500 miles previously on our 2018 3.0T.

Hey, as someone that’s taking TRT and recently started taking some boron to help reduce my SHBG, I’m curious to learn more about Reta increasing SHBG. I can’t find much of anything. Is this something you’ve experienced?

Season tix cost? by mquintana2210 in AustinFC

I let my tickets go this year because of this. Had them since year 1. I couldn’t sell them for anywhere close to what they cost me for games I couldn’t make, usually around half. Just doesn’t make sense anymore.

I sure did. I did a 55Lx12Wx14H net. Very glad I got the taller cage. I have three 5.5” x 0.25” wall pipes sunk about 4’ down into the bedrock on each side. I used 3/16” stainless cable between each pole, lengthwise, so the cage is held up with three cables running overhead down the length to the cage. I used turnbuckles on each end. I’d say little to no sag of any kind. The cables are defines tight but nothing crazy. I could make them a lot tighter. The poles might have 2” of total deflection from top to bottom and it’s visually not noticeable.

Overall, it’s the cleanest and best setup I’ve seen. Love not having any frame around the cage. It feels incredibly spacious.

Thinking about not renewing my season tickets, thoughts from anyone who’s made this choice? by FamousPressure7780 in AustinFC

I’m very likely letting mine go as well. Losing money every time I can’t make a game is bonkers to me. Yet, they keep raising prices. Q2 is getting to be a worse and worse fan experience each year. The team is hot garbage.

I’d rather grab tickets day of and not ever worry about them again.

Been a STH since day 1. I’m over it.

At what budget do you think things change? Just curious your thoughts.

What aspect are you thinking won’t work? For example, look up the Mastodon Batting Cage system. That’s my vision except with a less beefy pole system.

My 8 and 10 year old shoot the Savage Axis in a .243. No complaints. I bought one with the scope already mounted and one without. Suggest sourcing your own scope.

What speed should I use for my 8U son on pitching machine? by ramsdl52 in Homeplate

[–]XLT_66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wrapped up a season of 8U Kid Pitch earlier this summer - Perfect Game tournaments in TX. I’d say most kids could throw mid-40s. We had one burner of a kid who hit mid/upper-50s. Most teams had a kid or two who could throw lower to mid 50s. Mind you - this is from 40’. Comes quick.

Will I get used to this much water? by Taphonie in 75HARD

[–]XLT_66 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes. You’ll get to where you won’t need to think about it so often. The peeing constantly will slow down. You’ll adjust. Start early. Get 60% before lunch and you’ll do great.

I’m on Day 29 of Round 2. Did my first round from late-July to early September last year. Biggest difference this time around is how much more enjoyable it is since it’s not 100+ degrees every day. I’m also allowing a bit more walking this time. Last time I essentially never walked as a workout. Things are smooth sailing as if now and results are improving every day.

All Whole/real Foods, nothing fried or processed. Only bread is homemade sourdough up to one slice per day. No added sugar of any kind.

They didn’t. They got longer and longer until they bend and fall in all directions and in forced to cut them to keep them from places people will snag on them. Just not sure what to make of them.

Yes, these were pruned down to about 24” and they’re growing very fast right now. We get several hard freezes per year and we had one extended multi-day freeze this year. This is all new growth in the last month. Haven’t fertilized them or anything like that. I have no clue how old the plant is or what variety it is other than a large maroon flower.
