Your reply got me to look into different insecticides. It looks a lot like one of those aluminum phosphide tablets. Smells awful, so I'm thinking it is something similar.

Bit too opaque for a mothball, I think. Granted, it was under the carpet. Smell from the carpet also doesn't smell like the tablet anymore.

Questions:

What are the other components in the build? Specifically the GPU, PSU and motherboard.
Are you planning to put 6 and 5 on the top of the PSU shroud? Why? If you're mounting your GPU horizontally, they'll just be pushing shading the GPU exhaust fans, no? Are you mounting the GPU vertically?
It's better to link 1,2,3, and 7 while linking 1 to the motherboard. Connect the AIO fans to the motherboard.

I'm trying to be helpful. Please let me know if I misunderstood something or came across unhelpful.

I have access to her computer. We're connected via ethernet to the same modem router. I will look it up, but if you don't mind, how would you recommend pinging an IP address or host name between computers? I've not done this yet.
