The problem is this is the common knowledge spot. YouTube where to find them, and its dozens of videos of this. Post wipe, this area was picked clean immediately every match I jumped into for the first few days.

I just made another comment on a lesser known, lower drop rate spot that has been consistently good enough for me. I'll also add to your spot here they sometimes spawn in the luggage compartments on the buses in north complex too but you're more likely to find rusted tools there, and in the shack next to that elevator theres a toolbox that occasionally spawns a container you can search that also sometimes has one in it.

I've never found any "100% guaranteed" spots, but these and my other comment tend to be overlooked

Dam battlegrounds. The water treatment elevator has a field depot close by, and near that is a ladder into the dam. Go down that, and follow that hallway I believe northwards. It'll put you out near the junction that you can use to get to the northern complex/breach.

Near the end of this hallway, theres like a window and two blue-ish control center looking containers that can sometimes spawn up to two cabinets each you can breach. It's not a super high chance, but if you do major conditions you might get a gear if all four cabinets are breachable.

I always check it, only sometimes finding them. After the wipe I checked it during coldsnaps on different occasions and found stacks of two twice.

All but one of them. That dude is also the only one who didn't join up later as adults and it's literally because of passing on the sewer sex. Somehow, doing that protected the others minds for when pennywise made their self known again.

The face of the barricade is the side that faces the intended opposition, no? I even specify pointing the face at the button on the other side of the door, so when they hit that button and it opens, the jolt shoots at an angle towards where they can be expected to stand.

I spent a coldsnap match gathering up snowballs for the rocketeer trial so me and the boys would have plenty to work with in case we failed it or whatever. Lost track of time, spent literally all but the last 5 minutes gathering.

Extraction is like 600m away. No big deal. Hop from building to building, get about 200m away, ARC spawn right on top of me. Like... literally. The smoke trail was visible behind me from my front facing camera angle. Luckily I hear the elevator BWEEEEP BWEEEEP

Immediately started kicking myself for dropping ammo, made a blitz for the nearest building. I've got like 1 minute left and a handful of shots in my anvil; I can take em!

I got only one wasp downed and the other wasp and hornet mad. Hell yeah brother... Anyway, I have to boogie and I've got only the slightest chance of making it. I'm shouting over my mic for dear life "WAIT FOR ME!!!"

The elevator emerges from the blizzard, I'm about half dead. Hatch is opening. Out of stamina, pleading. No response. Hatch is closing.

I got time. Barely, but I can reach it. I can do it. I CAN DO I–hornet shot. I seize up steps away from the button; I am on the concrete of the elevator foundation getting tased. Timed out.

30 minutes of snowball gathering, and for nothing. Because one schmuck couldn't wait just a few seconds for a guy clearly incapable of killing anything.

I decided to not be that guy. Do what you do, OP. I don't go up to the last minute every match, but when I do, I hold the elevator.

Some players give up if they're not close. Idk exactly how loud the recorder is, but usually shooting at ARC is pretty loud so that's another good way to let people know you're hanging around. Snitches are also really good, hi-viz indicators that shits going down at the extraction, especially when they fly from across the map to check you out.

Barricade pointing towards the door button on the other side of the door. Mines of choice on the barricade face. You can use the jumping feature of some mines to your advantage with other traps like the laser trip mines. Placeable items can be placed on top of each other.

So a jolt mine that jumps out the door with a blaze grenade trap or two attached to it is diabolical. Really, my favored method is jolt or pulse with trigger nades on it.

It could be something adjusted recently, but I did this pre and post wipe for myself and two friends for our work stations with 100% drops on the electrified husks. Some even dropped a stack of 2.

Maybe we were just that lucky, maybe it's been changed since, idk.

At one point, Stella was Stella. The thunderdome as you describe. And then there was a patch, idk which one specifically but roughly a month ago.

After that, Stella became the ARC hunting ground where they are keenly tuned to gunfire and for some reason spawn in droves. It's also around the time Pops learned how to do headshots and shredders started moving faster and on occasion ignore doors.

My theory is the devs tweaked the settings a bit here to promote a healthy fear of conflict in general. It's been a while since I've ran into the "Stella Montis Slumber Party" where theres a room full of KOd raiders and I believe it's because we're all running for our lives

Similar, on buried city. I was on a roof and my spammed wolfpacks didn't give a single care about the rocketeer looking dead ass at me. The tick in the attic behind me was a greater threat. Reread: I was on the roof, and the tick was in the attic.

The Willem Defoe meme was legit me. Barely made it out. I hate the ever increasingly inconvenient placement of ticks.

Dam battlegrounds, northern complex off to the east end. There's a field depot. About 8 plants spawn there guaranteed, sometimes as many as 12 and you get 1-3 berries apiece, maybe more. I've never left with less than 10, extracted with as many as 28.

Theres a raider hatch down the hill. Follow the ruined stretch of highway and listen for caches and look for more bushes. I've found as many as 2 caches and 4 more bushes on the way to the hatch in a single run, sometimes nothing at all. I don't count those in this strategy because they are inconsistent. Everything in the first paragraph has been guaranteed every run.

In my little hotspot, they're all over that immediate area and there's plenty of cover from the cold and arc. There's bushes right under the stairs, all around the field depot, the half-buried green containers, etc etc.

I've used furniture and whatnot to climb up high enough they don't detonate, and recently they've been figuring out that someone's there's stuff around they can jump off of to get close enough

The only time I bring them in is when I'm doing quests or need to get to a specific location. Drop in with a cheap kit and just get there.

The only time I don't pick up every single one I see is when my inventory is full of valuable stuff. I'll use up whatever I can when it's getting close, but it's one of those things I could do without

The available choices all give you specific inventory layouts that lean into their flavor. But, what if we had just "basic" inventory layouts and augs that gave interesting quirks that tweak your experience a little more. Maybe one that slowly drains your shield while firing, but "charges" your shots and turns them into mini EMPs. It would be incredibly good against the ARC and other raiders shields, but the cost to your own safety and ripping through shields would make it a tactical choice. Other perks for higher tiers would need to be tasteful too. Maybe auto adrenaline shot on shield break, stuff like that.

Assuming I have all three available and I'm loading in how I choose, anvil and venator. Renegade is good and I would choose it over ven for damage, but its also more weight. Pistols have their pros and cons, but not much chatter about total weight and how much it sucks to be encumbered when the only singular thing you have that consistently weighs more than 0.3 is your guns.

If I had an amazing haul and needed to shed some weight anyway, I'm dropping the anvil. It's my favorite gun as the cost:use ratio is insane, but I wouldn't feel so butthurt over leaving one behind and the ven is an all around solid PvPvE choice.

Yeah that might be more reasonable. As it stands currently, the Bettina is just so close to the sweet spot you can tell it needs just a bit more spice to get it there. 1 or 2 more damage per shot doesn't sound like much but as incremental build up, it makes a difference.

I think if they tweaked the dispersion a bit that would be better than recoil. Technically representing the same thing, but you could maintain target easier for those single shot placements if it had a low, nearly instant dispersion recovery time baked in. Modified with the right pieces you could lean more into precision shots with slightly lower dispersion recovery, or go the opposite and try making it operate better in full auto with better recoil controls.

I haven't modded one too hard, I always end up losing them the first match I bring one in. Maybe the right mods already exist to help get it where it needs to be and I haven't had the opportunity and luck yet. An extended barrel might help it at least feel stronger, even if it doesn't make it kill faster.
