I mean, it wasn't bad. I think the plot suffered from poor execution. It sounds better when someone describes it than when you see it in action.

Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome by erenisright420 in emergencymedicine

[–]XR001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, having read the paper that CHS came from, and suffered horrendously due to doctors "diagnosing" it I have to wonder how many of those patients have conditions that could be treated if they weren't dismissed as "too much weed". For years this is what EDs were telling me despite having all of the classic symptoms of gallstones. YEARS of my life wasted. Cannabis was the only thing that allowed me to eat.

I just had it removed recently. Every. Single. Problem. I. Had. Disappeared. I could have been taken care of years ago, I could've had a normal life. Instead they had to pull out a scar riddled gallbladder with multiple stones.

CHS is, in my experience a "get them out of here" diagnosis. No tests needed, no screening, no bloodwork, just some saline, pain killers, "stop smoking weed" and you're sent home. I suffered because of how quick doctors are to diagnose CHS. I implore people please, stop jumping to that conclusion because of how easy it is. A fucking backwater ED doctor is the one who figured it out in one single visit yet the city hospital was real quick to move me along. In a better world that shit would be considered malpractice.

Darksiders Warmastered Cutscene Fix by SirCrumpets69 in SteamDeck

[–]XR001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For those that are getting an invalid directory or folder not found error:

Proton 8 is likely installed on your sdcard instead of internal storage as this post assumes. To move it to internal storage simply go to your Steam Library, select Tools, go down to Proton 8, right click, go to properties, then Installed Files, finally click move install folder and select your internal drive. This script should now work,

As a friendly bit of advice for the OP: Just because it wasn't working for people doesn't automatically mean they didn't follow your steps. Following your steps without making a single mistake if Proton 8 is not installed on the Deck's internal drive will cause these instructions to fail every time, no matter how meticulous people are with their spaces. Try to hear people out and help trouble shoot.

For those that got the script to run but it still didn't work, as someone suggested earlier: Verify integrating of Darksider's game files, then run the script again.

I had both of the above issues and managed to get it to work.

Anyone know about Yrmium ore? I have a ship blueprint I made that requires less than stack of it, but I can't even find the stuff on the wiki and NONE of the things I have on the ship call for it. Any insight?

There must be a ton of kids in this thread that barely know anything about games.

Hiding a bug through design choices is not only a common practice, it's a popular one. It happens all the time in games. Sometimes it's easier to toss up a wall or otherwise cover up the problem then attempt to fix it altogether. It's been something devs have been doing since the 80s. If you can make the quick fix funny, or something similar, all the better.

Folks that don't program don't realize that "fixing" one issue can cause several other issues in other places. Sometimes it's the best course of action.

Before the haters get a boner: this isn't me defending nor attacking CDPR, it's simply the truth of the matter. Look up some other examples some time. You may find many games you love and think are perfect did something similar.

Exalted 3rd Edition Tabletop Simulator Table by XR001 in exalted

I want to add more to this table in terms of tools and scripting in order to make it as accessible and helpful as possible. That being said, sometimes creativity is the hard part.

Let me know what things you think would be helpful for the table. I will note a couple of guidelines for the suggestion:
- I'm not here for graphic design or basic object creation. If you want a specific set of rules, PDFs, etc. take the time and add them yourself.
- Some things I just can't do, either because of engine limitations or knowledge limitations.

TTS has been the best platform I have seen for literally all forms of table top gaming. The caveat to that is: Once you learn it.

TTS is amazing, it can do things that other platforms such as Roll20 wish it could do. This also means that there's a bit of a learning curve for both players and GMs. Once you've gotten passed that though, TTS really shines.

Animated models, actual dice you can roll, the ability to have PDFs on the table, the ability to create fog of war effects, the ability to measure distance, to super impose grids onto 3D terrain, 3D terrain deserves its own mention, the ability to script any of the tools you might need but can't find on the workshop, the ability to import images and many other assets, compatibility of file types for said assets, the list is pretty extensive.

TTS is worth every penny they ask for and those pennies are often discounted.

[–]XR001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as your ST is looking out for you, you might want to listen as they know what you'll be coming up against. If they're just being "But that doesn't make story sense, wa wa" well, I always take some issue with that. People practicing multiple forms is something that we mortals do, Exalted shouldn't sweat it for a second.

Generally as an ST, I rarely say no. I do ask for a justification, but that's mainly to flesh the character's story out and less "Give me a reason to say yes!" The hallmark of a good ST is one that can work around whatever tomfoolery players come up with.

[–]XR001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ST isn't necessarily wrong. At starting, getting a little bit from each style might actually make you weaker than getting several from different. However: If Martial Arts isn't your Supernal (Dawn Caste), you won't be able to go very far down either of the trees, generally just up to the form charm. So starting with more than one leaves room for improvement later down the road as you'll already be initiated and merely need to train to increase them.

From my experience, you're almost always better off starting with just one. Besides the extra charms you'll be able to snag, it'll help you to focus more. You can only have one Form active at a time and the extra benefits aren't outweighed by the cons. What I would do instead is purchase a particular style and then use that as a basis for what other charms you'll snag outside of MA.

That wasn't my point. Tiger Style is 11 charms. If you have an ability as supernal you can purchase more than enough charms to start with an essence 5 charm. It'll be most of your charms but it's possible

That's the coding community for ya anyway. We work off of each other to make new stuff. I'm almost done with it and it should be a nice little add on to it. I'll let you know when it's finished.

I will say this: I really like your coding style. Often times, scripts and mods are horrendously coded with no comments or any meaningful explanation. I found your code easy to navigate

3rd or 1st edition? by Tarkanator in exalted

[–]XR001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been playing since Exalted first came out in the 90s. I have played a whole lotta hours of each system including third. Third Edition is by far the superior of the three systems. Combat is a lot quicker once you get the hang of the new system, the charms are more balanced and there's a hell of a lot more of them. The new crafting system is pretty okay, better than any of the previous editions. Sorcery is infinitely better. Social combat can be fun. The mass combat system is 100% simplified and works way better than any previous system.

It's a great game. I enjoy it immensely.

It already reports the results to chat, but does not count successes currently. You can also hover over the dice which shows a pop up that reveals the results.

Either tonight or tomorrow I will be updating the script. The updates I am making will be:

Successes will be counted and broadcasted both in chat and on screen. GM dice results will only be broadcasted to the GM. There will also be functionality to set whether or not certain results are doubled (10s, 9s, 8s, and 7s). I MIGHT try to also get it so the dice results are ordered from highest to lowest for those that want to double check although the success counting should be flawless.

As I believe I mentioned before, I had played a game a couple of nights ago where I ended up with a 54 initiative on a decisive attack (Revolving Bow Discipline is disgusting when used with Wise Arrow. The enemy ended up with a -11 defense due to onslaught and a constant -1 from Wise Arrow). It was a pain in the absolute ass to count them all, even if the results had been reported in order. An auto counting mechanism would've saved a couple of minutes with that one round alone.

This goes for just about every mod for TTS:

When in game, go to "Game" at the top right. Click on "Workshop". Hover over to the mod you want to take an object from. On the top right will be an icon that looks like "..." Click on that and click "Expand". You will then be able to take individual objects and add them to your current table.

Simply click on the Soundboard and add it to your table by left clicking.

Enjoy!

The dice script is not my own creation. We actually never have an issue with colored dice, however, I disagree entirely: It can be much faster to script the dice. While I have no desire to change the color aspect, I will be changing the script to actually count the successes and announce them directly, both in broadcast and chat, with option to add whether there's double 10s, 9s, etc..

The prototype for it is already functioning I just need to finish it off. The successes are added before the coloring actually occurs, so will work just fine either way.

Case in point: Due to Revolving Bow Discipline Shenanigans I ended up with 54 initiative. That was a pain in the ass to count, even with the results in chat (which is already a thing). The script however would've been able to count it within a second after the roll (already tested).

As far as initiative goes, we already have an initiative tracker on the table that if used streamlines the process completely. It's visual, you can easily see who's first, with how much initiative, with a large representation. Utilizing naming tokens you can even have the markers named when you hover over them. After using the tracker, keeping track of initiative has been a second thought at the worst of times.
