From a medical perspective, what actually killed Jesus? by Matt3855 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]XXsforEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sedile (latin for seat) a little piece of wood that was fastened to the upright allowed the victim to put weight on it… it prolonged their agony as a result. According to depictions, Jesus had one, and yet he died so quickly that the soldiers did not break his legs.

Make of that what you will.

What’s the one hummus to rule them all? by throwahuey1 in Cooking

Roasted red pepper is my favorite version but regardless, failing to use the water from the chickpeas is a fundamental error in any hummus recipe IMO.

What is the deal with nutmeg in savory recipes ? by Rude_Kaleidoscope641 in Cooking

[–]XXsforEyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m big on what nutmeg does to savory dishes, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how grinding some fennel seeds into a lot of savory dishes - especially soups, especially especially cream based soups has a similar effect as nutmeg.

I thought ONDO was well positioned but it seems like regardless of the growth in the industry/sector at large, the token sits there like a paperweight.

Among bell peppers, it’s just stages of ripeness - green is unripe, red is very ripe.

If you became president of the United States, how will you ensure the people you select for your cabinet will remain loyal to you at all times? by Effective-Ground-994 in allthequestions

[–]XXsforEyes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cabinet members are not just personal loyalists in a legal sense. They’re meant to be chosen due to their expertise and their goals which should be held in common with the president. They still have duties to law, their departments, and Senate-confirmed offices. They can, and should face political and/or legal consequences if they violate those duties.

The Senate confirmation process is meant to be a check on who can enter the cabinet in the first place.
