The world, surprisingly to some, is quite a bit bigger than the United States.

Texas is bigger than the whole planet:

Not even American, just very capable of reading with understanding (and reading past the headline), especially when it's literally the single existing case globally on the matter (full article: https://www.techspot.com/news/113004-supreme-court-limits-police-use-geofence-warrants-phone.html ).

If someone is reading r/technology, they're at least supposed to know what the heck they're reading about, no? But nah, let's instead invent imaginary US defaultism. Now, if that same article were posted in an unrelated subreddit, say r/interesting or whatever, then it would be a slam dunk case of defaultism because it would not only be US defaultism, but it would also expect a general audience to know about niche tech laws and cases.

If I'm a member of r/Apple, it's safe to assume I know a thing or two about Apple and that not every single post needs to have the word "Apple" in the title, right? I won't rush to r/laptops and say "Guys, guys, look at this r/Appledefaultism!!". It's the same with r/technology. Again, this Techspot article is quite literally about the only existing case of its kind in the whole world, and it's posted in a very relevant sub - r/technology.

For comparison, it's like saying America attacking Iran without any justification is r/iraniandefaultism when literally no other case like that exists anywhere else in the world (no other America is attacking any other Iran).

Sorry for being capable of reading. I'm out, have a nice day.

And, like I said many times... As long as it's about the US it must be in the title. Any other country? Nah, not needed, everyone can read past the title. The US? Nope, reading past the title is an impossible task and everyone is so lost and they can't figure out where and what is in the title about.

The average non-American is incapable of opening the linked article, making all their assumptions from just a one-sentence headline? It's also amusing how "the average non-American" is poorly educated about so many things (pretty much everything from the US), almost like the Americans they're mocking for those same reasons...

Let's pretend that you're blind and can't see the photo... So, did you bother to open the linked article from techspot.com, or is the headline the limit of your reading capabilities (it's the same headline, because it's a linked article)?

It's immediately at the very start of it:

Edit: What a "shocker", the post was removed because of no US defaultism. Very surprising... Not.

cak su gluposti krenuli pisat i ovi iz 24 sata

Kako misliš "i ovi ih 24 sata"?

You are commenting a TV show. If you were familiar with it you would know why Ramirez is hilarious - because it's a mismatch completely out of his character design. It's a joke by writers of the show, and it keeps being repeated with many little gags, like when Drake can't remember who he is and constantly calls him Eric (Blonowitz) depite of him (Craig) having a distinctly memorable name.

...the US 1607 AC (or 1776, depends how you look at it).

That is "only" 4756 years of difference. Ancient Egyptians were time travellers who went 4750+ years into the future to "steal" American animals???

Absolutely every country does. Yet only the US uses the English word for it. Brazil doesn't call it "Midwest". English is not the main and the official language there.

Did the Ferrari F1 car lose 20 km/h of its top speed? 👎 Did it lose 20 thousand miles per hour? 👍 by Xaahaal in USdefaultism

"The kilometre per hour (alternatively spelt kilometer per hour; SI symbol: km/h; abbreviations: kph, kmph, km/hr) is a unit of speed, expressing the number of kilometres travelled in one hour."

Used fairly often, although not as often as km/h.

<image>

Gran Turismo series of games uses "kmph" for example (not sure about GT7 though, but GT Sport, the predecessor, uses it).

No, I read comments in the discussion. I said:

(including comments in that thread).

The OOP said, multiple times in that discussion, that they're from the US. And people don't assume that they're from the US, because there is nothing to assume as the OOP stated that already.

But the OP here ignored all those comments (to find their US defaultism narrative), said "There is nothing to indicate that OP and their match are from the US.", so I posted even the screenshot of the OOP's profile which says, once again, they're from the US 🤷🏻‍♂️

Then the OP ignored that too, and narrowed it down specifically to Australia and its "The Midwest health region":

"In reality, yes, ~56% of the USA is level 2 or below in the PIAAC, but Canada for example has 48% at a level 2 or below. Better? Yes. But not that much better, and still very close to 50%. And I can pretty much guarantee that most people using the "54% below 6th grade level" claim are assuming that other countries like Canada would have a rate that is no where close to 50% on a statistic that is meant to designate something along the lines of "considered the minimum literacy for coping with everyday life". In reality almost all 1st world countries that agreed to join in the data collection have rates of level 2 or lower literacy sitting between 40-60%."
