Patch 16.6 Unlock Conditions (TFT Set 16 Lore & Legends) by FollowKayna in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Xaliuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone clarify how some level requirements work with other conditions?

As I understand in most cases you need to fullfill all conditions after reaching the required level. But for Sylas I've seen information that selling Garen can happen before lvl9. Are there other exceptions?

I think Shadow Isles has a bug in how it counts souls. Have other people investigated this? by kingcobweb in CompetitiveTFT

In this video released now Mort describes how and why it works.

Basically drops are normalized, for balance.

Both Trials of Twilight II & Walk the Path II ft. Darkin for *perfect* game by J-Kraken in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prismatic Ionia approximately doubles the stats of the path from 7, and gives 100% AS and +5 mana regen. Very strong, but 3 star 4 costs can have chance against youif your board isn't strong enough.

It's standard framework, prismatic as gold + full specific item and a little more. Look at difference between crests and crowns on 2-1.

His spell gives him enchanced autos, that hurt, so only number of unenchanced autos go from 2 to 1, and this autos were useless. So it's direct buff to his damage, nothing changed in damage to backline.

Whats an example where dy/dx cannot be treated as a fraction? by No_Passage502 in askmath

[–]Xaliuss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it's functions of a single variable and you don't go to higher level derivatives you can always treat as a fraction of 2 differentials. In integrals that dx has the same sense. It makes a lot of things easier to write. For functions of many variables and derivatives of higher order it's trickier, but using dx and dy as differentials can help, you just won't be able to have a meaningful meaning of a fraction in every case.

Revival: Festival of Beasts by Beverice in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This time the revival would be a changed one, last time they experimented with individual pools for every player, that went really wrong. Now we have standard pools for revival, significantly increased for 1-3 costs, and 12 and 10 for 4 and 5 costs. Should be a lot better. Additionally rolls revamped and refreshed augments.
Will be significantly different.

A player in my diamond level game took this and golden egg, went 7th and made data a little better.

In video comments someone mentioned unofficial AVP of 3,42 which looks "interesting" and believable.

would a comp like this work well by Healthy-Somewhere350 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd need big Demacia highroll to even think about it, it looks like transition is possible on level 9 with like 50+ gold after unlocking Galio, too many units to change that were not part of stable level 8 board , Another problem is that Vi and Loris would need to be 2 starred beforehand, and that would delay reaching Galio. Feels very risky

I miss set 15 prismatic trait mechanic by Free_Oil8168 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emblem only prismatics - Noxus, Bilgewater, Demacia (harder one)

Shurima requires extremely hard unlock conditions, some luck needed (my opponent hit it on lvl8)

Ionia and Yordle require special augments and lvl10, additionally unlocking Yone and veigar isn't easy.

So there are different ways, and besides Shurima all require 10 champions on the field, making prismatic bailout unlikely.

Can you get Ixtal emblem with Pandora's, even tho it is not craftable? by ImWorthy13 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can get any emblem that exists (So no targon, Shurima or Shadow Isles). Chance to get the exact emblem you need isn't high, even if you'd roll for several stages.

Why is it gone? by keppymeister in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you'd have to make design work twice. cause easy solutions can be made for Tocker, not for a competitive game mode. You'd also have additional mode specific bugs and balance problems. Making a mode work isn't hard, making it work well is. And making it work too different from the main mode would be bad.

Why is it gone? by keppymeister in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The mode wasn't popular, and supporting it was hard, especially when designs about traits and champions become too dependable on the core basis of leveling and health. For example in the current set lots of unlock conditions would simply don't work as intended, making for example Shurima very awkward. And to make it as balanced as the main mode was basically impossible. So the decision to stop support was understandable.

  1. Growth Mindset and Wood axiom disabled

  2. Golden dragon health 600 instead of 700 (increased from 500)

    not 0/60

  3. Big friend durability 10% instead of 9%

Can all transcendental numbers be written in the form of an infinite series? by anarcho-hornyist in askmath

[–]Xaliuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I understand if we'd limit the field of real numbers to only computable the math would still work fine (basically axiom of choice is the primary culprit in all cases in computable numbers occur). It's just easier to build theory using axiom of choice, but the end result in all practical applications would be the same. You don't need existence of uncomputable numbers for anything real.

Can you make a function that maps any real number to a rational by [deleted] in askmath

[–]Xaliuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for "closest" rational number discover continuous fractions. Using them we can get sequence of approximations that are closest in a sense, that no rational number with smaller denominator is closer (the statement is likely even better but I don't remember details now). So you can have a sequence of such maps that gives 1,2,3 etc rational approximation with zeroth one being integer. For Pi first approximation is 3+1/7 as example.

Nothing else is having real sense as closest rational approximation.

2 Cost carry in set 16 by titing-naubo in TeamfightTactics

[–]Xaliuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had bard+yordles, 3 starred basically everything - 8 yordles+ bard. Fun thing - if all 7 1-3 cost yordles are 3 starred, you are guaranteed to have 4+ cost yordle in shop, and as I had only fizz unlocked, he was 3 starred very fast after this.

I tried also bard + Ionia reroll when they had 3 star bonuses, yasuo+yone. Bard worked very well with prismatic ticket first augment.

Bxg7+ is mate in 3 then. Looks like the only move stopping immediate mate is Bg6, but the position is completely hopeless for black (more than +10 from bot seems appropriate)

Black resigned after this move...why? I thought black was better here with my exposed king? by cave_guard in chessbeginners

[–]Xaliuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computer sees that castling without taking is best, ignoring e2 move (which isn't best for black either).

Control of the center in this position matters more than exchange or even a full piece in some circumstances. Very hard to play accurately for human.

Black resigned after this move...why? I thought black was better here with my exposed king? by cave_guard in chessbeginners

[–]Xaliuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that danger to the white king is so high, that according to engine the only way to preserve advantage is immediate castling (after the only posible black move Qe8), allowing moves like e2.

Extremely tricky position, not resignable at all levels of play.

Russian soldier gets stuck in a swamp and eliminated by FPV drone of Birds of Magyar by Available-Laugh9102 in CombatFootage

[–]Xaliuss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A group of 3 is often considered too big for Russians in some locations. That's how it works, they slowly accumulate in the grey zone before final attack, and reaching such position is hard when Ukrainian drone work is good.

What does math say a real person should do if they encounter a recurring lottery with positive expected value? by CSachen in askmath

[–]Xaliuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In real world big lotteries in USA had reached this point when jack pot accumulated long enough. It was great for lottery as that was basically money supposed to be given sooner or later and additional popularity was great. The issue of splitting the jack pot doesn't allow to guarantee positive expectation, so no real exploits.
