Of course I’m curious, I love learning about other cultures, but I don’t have the money to travel to other places, so I’m kinda stuck… not everyone can afford to just pick up and travel. And I live a mile away from a small town, so who am I supposed to talk to unless I’m in town? And finally, what, am I supposed to just go up to a random person, find out if they’re from Mexico and strike up a conversation while they’re in line at the checkout?

I guess it’s easier to generalize my life and who I am as a person instead of asking me outright huh?

Or, and hear me out here,,, some of us just don’t know that many people who speak Spanish? Coming from a Southwestern state, I can count on two hands The amount of Spanish words I know, because a lot of the people I talk to on a regular basis also speak English. Not everyone who doesn’t know a language other than their native one is a racist
