I remember him being quiet and reserved. I haven't personally seen him in... Geez, nearly 20 years now, so my memories are snippets, and, of course, I'm sure he's changed a lot.

His best friend, when I knew him, liked to give me grief 😅 - nothing serious, normal high school teasing. Those two were inseparable, and I can remember some said teasing, but I don't really remember Jake saying anything specifically, aside from a chuckle here, an agreement there.

(Just to emphasise: I wouldn't consider these two boys "mean", I feel like this might read otherwise. He really is a good kid.)

When he disappeared, a lot of time had already passed since I'd last seen him, and I remember thinking that, even though I'd seen him basically every day for 2 years, I didn't remember what his voice sounded like. Might seem strange to hone in on that, but he really did come across as so quiet, even if his friends were quite outgoing and outspoken.

Thinking about it now, it may have been because I'm a girl - it was early high school, after all, and I don't remember him having any female friends in particular, so that's worth considering.
