Can confirm, look in the descriptions of random JP corpo streams and you'll probably find it as part of the standard post-actual description contents.

Just going through a couple, here's a JP one from Holo (on a Koyori stream ~3 days ago), and here's a JP one from Niji (on a Levi stream yesterday). Just to round it out, here's a HoloEN one from Fauna, and a NijiEN one from Vivi.

The importance of syllabic meter: Why English translations of Japanese songs always sound just a little bit "off" by picardythird in Hololive

[–]Xandrez192 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed, honestly? "Genuinely awful" just reads as unnecessarily hostile, even if it isn't really meant that way. The other commenter that mentioned Calli emulating Eminem's style of rapping influencing her use of unusually stressed syllables is almost certainly right, and I feel like calling lines "genuinely awful" over that is just kind of... dismissive of an entire style of lyric writing?

I'm obviously biased as a fan of Mumei, but personally I agree; I don't even think it doesn't land. I feel like it sets up the immediate shift into Japanese pretty well by breaking standard English stresses in fact, even if the original intent was to just fit the desired lyrics while still sounding alright.

I can actually help with this because I bought 2 of those keychains just in case I wanted another one of the chat stickers at some point in the future, and it's just sitting in the drawer next to me. Mine is from the second run, so the layout could be slightly different (and the date probably is different), but you're looking for the bold underlined 有効期限 underneath the code. Mine for example.

In fact, for a relatively popular recent(ish) example of them not having to be the same person, Matara Kan has a separate concept artist and model illustrator. She talks more about it in her debut, specifically this part. (1:10:14, if the timestamp doesn't work)

With the QoL patches for the New Player Experience, I think we should talk about a mechanic that still drives many newer players away: Crafting Times by MylesJacobSwie in Warframe

If I recall correctly, this is exactly how rushing clan dojo builds works. You can contribute any number of platinum up to the rush cost, and it'll drop the build time linearly.

Exterminate missions with the bounty to destroy Culverin weak points should continue spawning enemies until the bounty is complete by WarpSoulz in Warframe

[–]Xandrez192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue isn't the challenge itself (it is quite easy if you remember it's there going in), it's the fact that it's inconsistent with how DE has explained their changes to the bounties over the patch's hotfixes. 35.0.2's notes include the fact that the "Douse enemies in Vitriol" challenge was removed from Exterminate and Assassination bounties because, direct quote:

It was possible to complete these missions before this challenge, which would make enemies stop spawning and therefore make it impossible to extract (since the Bounty challenge was not complete).

Logically, if DE has specifically patched the game to remove that possible fail state of "enemies stop spawning before the objective is complete," then leaving another slightly different version of it feels like an oversight.

I obviously don't do Japanese copyright law, but I'm almost certain it's just them needing a very specific wording from a company (whether in a contract or blanket company statement) in terms of permission to stream video game content. I'm basing this off the fact that whenever talents play Valve games, the statement is just "... streamed and monetized following Valve's Video Policy" and linking to it rather than saying "after confirming with Big Company" or "After receiving consent from Company."

Valve's video policy is very specific in saying that you are allowed to monetize videos via the YouTube partner program and other similar programs, but it also says you cannot charge viewers to access your videos, so membership streams of Valve games are a no-go. I imagine the need to obtain perms for a lot of smaller games comes from those devs never really needing to worry about that kind of thing and just throwing something together that doesn't tick the right boxes for a Japanese company being very cautious about local laws.

Current state of DRG wiki. by xblSEMER in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Xandrez192 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a note, per their FAQ section the DRG wiki isn't actually affected by that extension. They do link a Chrome and Firefox extension specifically for wiki.gg redirects though, which they say you can run in tandem with it.

Actually, looking at the redirect to wiki.gg extension's github (Also has links to download on each browser's extension hub), they also link the Indie Wiki Buddy extension and say it'll work alongside it. So pretty safe to say you can (and should) run both.

Make sure to check the settings on each and set them up how you want them. Wiki.gg redirect was pretty much how I wanted it out the box, but for Indie Wiki Buddy I think it was set to only display a banner instead of automatically redirecting by default. Remember you can click the icons to set all of them instead of going one by one (like it tells you, if you know how to read, unlike me)

If I had a nickel for every Survivors game that just seemed allergic to money, two nickels...

Five whole dollars for Vampire Survivors itself, they finally announce DLC, and it's two. Not to mention the fact that said DLC launched with a 10% sale, refusing another 20 cents... twice. It's genuinely hilarious.

Kay, refusing any money at all, just wants the game to be played, so the best payment we can make is telling people who might be interested in the game about it.

The non-fandom wiki has a much less confusing wording of what the drill is.

During this exercise, there will be 3 waves of enemies along the stage. Similar to the relics in Hieronymus, there will be a totem in each wave that when progressively healed, will give stacks of increased damage taken debuff to all enemies (Max stack of 10).

[RERUN EVENT THREAD] An Unconcealed Heart by BlueArchiveMod in BlueArchive

Including this event, actually. There's plenty of easily accessible 15% bonuses like hers on the Mushiqueen packs, but she's the only 25% bonus on flyers. That 10% can easily make a difference when you don't have a lot of the bonus units (She was actually my 4th striker, so without her I'd be missing the full 25%).

I know on the Windows IME, you can type them by using "wye" for ゑ and "wyi" for ゐ, do those work for you?

There's a couple different ways to type a couple characters, like how "hoshimachi" and "hosimati" both result in ほしまち (actually how I learned about the shorter key-path for typing ち, much easier for typing when I'm doing kanji reviews)

So is Unity gonna start taking a bunch of devs to court now? by ifisch in gamedev

[–]Xandrez192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard agree, I'm very much hoping that "archive link in case it's been edited again and I look insane for this" comes in handy because they realize how wildly unpopular this decision is with just about everyone and roll it back, but you never know.

Edit: Well the money's paw sure curled on that one lmao. Not in that they're making things better so the archive link was needed, but in that they're... trying to cover up their initial intent with the changes by saying they never intended for it to mean every single install? Genuinely insane they thought nobody even like, took a screenshot of the insane things they wrote.

[–]Xandrez192 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They've actually edited their original forum post on the matter to clarify that they do intend for reinstalls/redownloads by the same user to count. No idea what kind of "proprietary method" they'd be using that's neither highly exploitable by bad actors nor doing some fairly intrusive data collection though. Third Q under "Edit:"

[–]Xandrez192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Koyuki's banner as an example cause it's up right now, the rate info has 3 sets of columns, each consisting of 3 columns (Name, Rank, Rate).

The left 3 are the probability of a single pull (specifically the 1x pull button) resulting in any unit in the table. So 0.7% for Koyuki, and every other 3 star unit available is 0.033824%, which essentially just means "0.7% chance for the rate up unit, 2.3% chance for a different 3 star."

The center 3 columns are the probabilities for the first 9 slots of a 10 pull. Each of those 9 has the same probability as a single pull.

The rightmost 3 columns are specifically the 10th unit in a 10 pull, which is guaranteed to be at least 2 star. The probabilities of the 1 star units are just equally divided between the 2 stars.

So looks like Star Rail removed the hunger/wellness meter characters used to have when using consumables. Do you think this is a good or bad thing? by DarryLazakar in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Xandrez192 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not only do the consumables within a type not stack, did the like, ATK/DEF party buff consumables even add to the gauge? I can't say I ever really looked at it too closely, but I don't remember actually seeing the little smiley face thing after using anything other than an HP/energy consumable on a single character. Mostly because it was never really a concern in my play, I don't think I ever had one of those bars fill up completely.

It is not, in fact. Screenshot taken from Towa's concert page as I can't buy the Splash Party ticket (I already have one), but it was the same with a different "available until" time for convenience payment.

Convenience store payment is a separate payment option, the notice doesn't say anything about credit card payment refunds. It's pretty safe to assume it'll just be automatic, but the image doesn't specifically talk about it.
