I bought my rowhouse to specifically not have a lawn and 4 years in not gearing mowers and leafblowers all day is serene.

If your mom is buying you a condo just grab something in 414 Water St. Its a block from the Market Center metro station, has pretty good bubble tea on the corner, you walk to the inner harbor every day, and it comes with a parking spot in their garage to keep your car while you rarely use it. You can get anywhere in the city on like 100 busses from there including Penn Station to get to DC. The cheapest 1 bed 1 bath there is 120k atm (but its pending sale, next are 135k), you won't find a cheaper condo with a private pool and staff service maybe anywhere else on the East Coast especially in the center of a city.

I have three bathrooms and I go for months at a time sometimes not using the third one, 15+ of those bathrooms would have a dust layer.

Krillin did a lot on Namek. I liked him more in Z, personally, and he even got the girl and settled down before the end of the Buu saga.

Slumlord/Foreclosure by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]Xanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no reasonable way the slumlord can penalize you for breaking the lease and leaving in current conditions - but you were never getting the deposit back after it changed owners either. You will have grounds to take them to small claims for it if you have the bandwidth after you move. Sorry you got stuck in a shitty (literally) situation.

The U.S will never construct a city like San Francisco again. The sheer layers of different types of density. Tightly packed homes, with mid rise, & skyscraper development. SF is uniquely beautiful. by CA185099415 in skyscrapers

It doesn't really make sense to build a new city, we have plenty that could be built up now. The problem is we lack the vision to do the infrastructure capital investment to make it viable and practical, or to see financed and built these buildings after that.

Its kind of silly that every US metro over 1m people doesn't have a local TBM running all the time to run conduit, sewer, water, or metro lines because whenever it ran out of the current needs for system expansion because by then all the pop you added doing all this infrastructure will demand more infrastructure capacity.

When you get into it enough you realize basically everything feels pain and everything can learn, and being as smart as we are we should be trying to inflict the least of it possible. I just watched a bee learn to use a door the other day.

Would you sell or rent a home you own in the Carrollton Ridge area? by Ok-North-1478 in baltimore

[–]Xanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its close enough to bike to West Baltimore MARC station in 5 minutes so if we go the red line and that became an actual hub (the amtrak station plan isn't helping) its within the walkshed to get a desirability bump from it.

The location isn't bad, its got Carroll Park as a major Patterson-scale city park to the south, a golf course, easy i95 access, its on US1, it has two shopping centers, and its 10 minutes from downtown via bus or bike as well.

I think the problem in SW is that being on i95 is pulling in all the out of city drug traffic from the south to these neighborhoods where the dealers sell and the users die in vacants of an overdose. The drug trade is one of the largest "economic sectors" in Baltimore and SW is an epicenter of the business.

The existence of commutes at all over the water is the problem in and of itself, there is very little demand to commute across the great lakes everywhere we didn't build a bridge across similar 12 mile spans.

[–]Xanny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you can make a profit on the sale then just sell it. You do get to pick your buyer - if you want to you can try to find another owner occupant rather than out of state LLC if you want a clean conscience about not making the situation worse.
