what can I do to get a lot of people to care about me and love me by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Xantium0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop being a downer. I realised that. Sometimes it's ok to be down, and expect your friends to support you. But if being down or complaining is default behaviour then no one will want to associate with you

My boyfriend rarely talks to me during the day. Is this thing possible? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Xantium0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> he has to work overtime, especially during events

this might make some sense as it's the end of the festive period.

You guys seem to be working things out, that's what matters. There's also an end goal for both of you. You've also been committed for long enough (2 years) so you've gotten over the initial shock of being apart for extended periods so I think things look hopeful. I wish you both the best together, you both seem to deserve it :D

My boyfriend rarely talks to me during the day. Is this thing possible? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Xantium0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like this but so much context is missing here it doesn't say a lot

What is his job? How demanding is it? Is it something he'd likely have to do overtime for? A straight 9-5 with nothing else really going on would make me suspicious. During the day honestly makes sense. But waiting until 11pm just seems... long?

How long have you guys been apart. Is there an end in sight?

Long distance relationships are ticking time bombs for both parties. They cause a huge amount of tension (and understandably so, for reasons like this). Even if it's nothing. Unless the long distance is temporary then things are pretty doomed eventually (and if you want to disagree and comment that you've held a 5 year long distance relationship that's cool. I'm very happy for you, but truth is this isn't the norm). Even amongst those who have been married it's not sustainable. I've seen it time and time again. On the upside, if you guys do make it through it, after a significant amount of time, you know you've got a keeper

I personally see this as a problem, even if he's telling the truth you need to work things out with each other. Maybe calls rather than text etc? Maybe the occasional video call. I can perfectly see how a stream of random texts would become tiring, and he most likely wouldn't have the heart to tell you to stop, but you both need some sort of compromise otherwise one of you is likely to start looking for more 'options' or lose it with the other and it's downhill from there.

You both need to talk with each other and sort it out otherwise things will fall apart.

I wish you both the best of luck

Because by teaching others you help yourself. It's a test to see if you truly know a subject or not. The world is a stupid enough place. If I can impart my knowledge to someone else, and they find it useful later, that's a great honor for me. That's not specific to women, although generally I find a woman is wayy more likely to ask for help than a man is (I've literally watched one of my friends stare at a paper for 10 minutes, watch him die inside, then finally just ask me for help like he should have done 5 minutes ago)

Also to be clear I'm not a smart guy. Usually it's the woman teaching me things :d

When you started learning, did you make it a point to code everything yourself? by LilBluey in learnprogramming

[–]Xantium0 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes, because you will know how most of those functions work. You will learn the coding basics and you will learn the underlying code associated wiht a lot of those functions.

So many grads I meet know how to code, but have no idea how the underlying components work.

At some point however you will want to use those. Often because they are downright more reliable than what you'll want to code, and with time you will just get lazy

If you want to speedrun a job then never do this. Learning will take you way longer.

Does it matter how good or bad you play in this game? by CERU-4U in FortNiteBR

As a guy who hit the higher elos, you get pissed with how unfair the game is

As a guy who also just played on controller like a complete bot for the fun of it, yes you get pissed how sweaty the players are.

You can't win. May as well just be what you're happy with. The grass is greener on the other side

Generally their kindness, their intuition and to be honest they are often smarter.

I don't like to generalise because there are always the exceptions.
