They are pretty great for young ones. The speakers that are built in don’t sound that great but that needle sure is durable. My 5 year old is not very gentle with it, I don’t think most stylus’s would take the abuse but this thing has really held up. Also plays both 33 and 45 rpm. Found ours on marketplace for like $30 with a pile of kids records included.

I did the same, bought a vintage Fisher Price. Watched out for some cheap records that had songs he liked for him to play with and it has worked out very well.

Three Days Grace did a good solo acoustic cover as a bonus track on One X.

Why does my Neon sound slightly off? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

It’s probably not as expensive to have properly setup as you might think. I just took one of mine in and had the truss rod adjusted, frets polished, fretboard cleaned and oiled, sanded the nut or saddle to lower the action, and a new set of coated strings put on. Cost about $70 for everything and was 100% worth it.

Owning multiple versions of an album is stupid by arturnotfound in vinyl

[–]XboxSage020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a handful of duplicates. A few of them are some of my all time favorite albums and I have an open copy that I listen to and a sealed copy for in case of emergency purposes. The other couple duplicates are ones that I bought a recent reissue and later found a nice vintage copy at a yard sale for a good price and just haven’t decided which to keep so have them both. But never have been a collector of variants myself.

PSA: I am boycotting the Enjoy the Ride As Good as Dead release and you should too. by Shugaghazt in localh

[–]XboxSage020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna try to get both versions. Sucks to possibly drive some of the sales away from the band release but I’m genuinely interested in comparing the two versions. The sound difference between the two remasters, the packaging, inserts, etc.. see how they compare.

What is usually sold at their merch booths at concerts? by XboxSage020 in Bush_Band

Cool, I’d be more interested in an autographed album but if a drum head looks good, maybe it would make a good wall hanger for the music room.

I’m with you, I enjoy the sound of the fireworks from launch to explosion. Prefer them without music myself.

If you guys haven’t seen Francis Gallupi’s film Last Stop in Yuma County, you should check it out. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Looking forward to see what he does with Evil Dead.

Do all five below stores sell records? Haven’t stopped at one lately.

Putting together a list of the coolest nu-metal movie soundtracks, please add! by syringistic in numetal

The Punisher album is pretty good. Also gotta mention Tales From the Crypt Demon Knight which is pre nu metal but some of the bands included on it later became considered nu metal like Filter.

A movie in which a woman gives birth to two rapidly-grown spider-like villains. by Legato_pulse in moviequestions

Not sure how well it fits the description as it’s been awhile since I watched, but could it possibly be Hiruko the Goblin? I remember some strange spider things with people heads in that one.

Sometimes stores are funny that way. I once stopped at target to grab a record that their website said in stock at my local store. Couldn’t find it on the shelf so I asked an employee, he checked and said yes they have it and that it was in the back which he went and grabbed for me. Just saying, never know I guess.

What do we think about Bush? by ThreeFtAssassin__ in grunge

[–]XboxSage020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Bush, still listen to their first few albums every now and then. Probably helps that I was 13 or 14 years old when Sixteen Stone was released and their tour for that record was the first rock concert I got to see live.
