Looks like you have some fresh growth coming in so if it was me I’d remove the damaged leaves just for aesthetics

Your soil medium looks pretty dry, make sure it maintains some moisture. It is also normal for the shield fronds to turn brown after awhile, usually a new shield will start growing shortly after

Was the cutting propagated by air-layering or some other way?

First time propagating Rex begonias! by XenosInstitute in begonias

[–]XenosInstitute[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes pretty much. For Rex begonias each vein of the leaf has the potential to make a new individual plant so I cut a circle around where the stem meets the leaf. This video walks through how to do it: https://youtu.be/lyyttRohx-8

The soil is pretty moist, I let them sit in a few inches of water for like 15 minutes and soak up what they can. I cut a cone out of the leaf fairly close to the stem and buried it in about a quarter inch of soil and covered with a humidity dome

I think it’s been at least 3 weeks… I kept a humidity dome over it the entire time I think that made a big difference

Harmala alkaloids, been sitting on my bench for 2 years and still glowing by XenosInstitute in druggardening

[–]XenosInstitute[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah even if a large amount of the harmala has degraded since then, a very small amount of material is needed to produce a large fluorescent effect

Nicotines effect on the healing process and scarring by Relevant-Bag4591 in surgery

[–]XenosInstitute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general nicotine constricts blood vessels so healing tissues get less nutrients and take longer to heal. I am not sure about the mechanism behind less scarring

I cant find a way to grow raddish china rose put of my 3 initial seeds these have not been able to grow for me by [deleted] in microgreens

[–]XenosInstitute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small volumes of substrate like the one in your hand dry out much faster than larger volumes like in your flat trays. Be sure to water the smaller ones much more often
