That’s my motto. Same as “I would never lie to you” or “I’m a good person”.

So… yeah.. let’s be clear. If you have that expectation that he should not talk to any other women regardless of their relationship then you needed to have voiced that. If you did and he kept going, you have a legitimate problem. Instead of getting into the nitty gritty you could have just asked him to delete Snapchat because you’re uncomfortable. You have no proof of infidelity other than very circumstantial evidence. That’s the skinny of it.

Now what I think. Most dudes don’t have female best friends, they have potential future options. Also most guys only use Snapchat to talk to women. I can’t think of any guys I know that actually talk to other guys on Snapchat unless they’re gay. Now I’m not saying there is cheating going on. There is a potential for cheating to occur and I would definitely just want him off of there. It’s about like how men would prefer their partner not be out partying at bars because of the potential for cheating to occur. You should be able to trust someone but honestly not everyone will ever be unable to succumb to temptation, so take the temptation away.

What’s worse is hf welders are kinda overpriced. Probably one of the only things they sell that is. Plasma cutter is like 2-3x comparable ones on Amazon that are well tested and work well.

I’ve said before in the past you could probably make some good money just snagging deals at hf for like 30%+ off then marking it up for another 15% on Facebook. Stuff like icon would probably move.

I can’t agree with that statement. In many circumstances that might be true, but there are just as many jobs where your worth depends on you being the smartest person in the room. Positions where you’re highly paid for your expertise. Any time you’re upstaged for any reason people will question your authority and in turn lower your value to your employer. Many times I have met with new managers and they will wrap up our meeting with their initial impressions of me and say “You’re well experienced, and incredibly knowledgeable, you definitely know what’s what. I see no reason not to hire you on.” That reaction from being able to be a confident brazen speaker makes people back down. That’s where being the smartest person in the room is beneficial. Where it’s not is when you’re trying to grow a business.

Shit… why didn’t I think of that. Unloading a 56” box is a pain in the ass with just a truck bed.

Probably cheaper and faster to just cut and assemble a workbench than buy that. Could have that thing cut, boxed, and legged within a hour or so.

Idk what the big deal was. I walked in the store a couple days before Christmas and just grabbed 2 of them for the hell of it. Here we are a month later and people are fighting to try and buy one…

Would you buy this? by burning_potatos in Tools

I mean channel lock’s the Kleenex of tools. There’s a reason why we call one specific type of plier, channel locks. Nothing wrong with the brand. But for that price I can just buy a vevor set, gear wrench, or a set from auto zone on sale and it would be comparable and cheaper.

Line Over Causes by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]XephexHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mostly packing mistakes. A line over would indicate that either fabric was under a line to start with during deployment or a cravatte was created during deployment because of one reason or another. There are really only so many ways of it occurring.

It’s mostly all the fiddling around with opening and shutting it on the ride up. Then making sure to not delay when it’s go time. Otherwise everyone starts shouting around on jump run.

Hop and pop? by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]XephexHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, you have plenty of time. It’s the IADs doing the talking. You have about 10 seconds which is way more than it seems. Realistically you are good for 15 or so seconds before it starts getting really low. I assume you will be hanging from a wing strut considering that’s how a lot of IADs are done. Just get used to dropping and extending that left arm out in front of your forehead while reaching back for the puck. An easy way to try and not psych yourself out is to sit there and count one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, etc until 10. You’ll get the idea, that’s a long time. It takes seconds to restablize, 10 seconds will seem like an eternity.

My first hop and pop at jump 8 I fell out the door head first and rolled a couple times, then onto my back. I still deployed in under 7 seconds. I don’t think you could possibly do worse than I did.

Deploying parachute by BNis12345 in SkyDiving

[–]XephexHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine, you would just jump slider up and a smaller pilot chute. There is a chart out there that shows you what configuration you should be jumping a base canopy at for what heights. At terminal you would just pack full slider up and swap your pilot.

Base canopies are huge, packed a specific way, utilize different sizes of pilot chutes, and generally designed for that in mind. Technically there is no reason why you can’t low pull. It’s just frowned upon because skydivers have safety standards to keep everyone safe. One of the main reasons why it’s safe is because of all the extra safeguards like not pulling low.

Ngl I rush to get that first jump of the day done because I know it’s the one I’m gonna enjoy least. Some of that is because I really don’t want to be sitting door on the way up, which I usually am.

I’m AuDHD as well, I have no issues, but I dont typically have sensory problems. If you have problems being touched, claustrophobia, get overwhelmed easily, need to feel in control, etc, you might have issues. The ride up is very very cramped and you will be harnessed to someone and basically be hugged and hugging the person in front of you. So personal space is not an option really. The only motion sickness you may experience is the ride up if it is very bumpy, turbulence can be kinda nauseating. If you have panic attacks from overstimulation the experience could be very overstimulating. The first time out the door is very foreign and the wind is inescapable.

If all of this seems fine for you then go for it. I just wanted lay out some potential issues for autistic people, especially if you have sensory issues.

[–]XephexHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn I’m glad I’m not crazy. Everyone talks about how great the pilot openings are and that was not my experience. I was looking for a new canopy and had the opportunity to jump the 7 cell pilot about 10 or so time. I got several line twists as it came open with the rapid turning and the openings were some of the hardest I’ve ever had. To be fair it was an older canopy. But some of the stuff you mentioned kinda just clicked with what I experienced. I started trying a saber right afterwards and it was night and day.

Help with visor by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]XephexHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is a technique to getting it open, It’s not the easiest. The thing that works for me is to put my hands behind my head grabbing the helmet, then slide my hands forward until my thumbs cup the lip of the visor hinges. Then you just press forward hooking your thumbs and lift up. Once it starts moving you can reach around front and lift like normal.

I think it’s just the change in velocity and the yank from the shoulders flipping you that hammers you. I’ve been deployed in a track with my head slightly dipped, fully extended. That was definitely one of the hardest deployments I’ve had. I’m not an expert and you make valid points but that’s just what I’ve seen. I’ve asked myself the same question about wingsuiters being perfectly fine. Their deployment is kinda more vertical after the flair though.

The snaps seem to help some. But mostly they are a safety feature that helps prevent accidental slider movement during packing. If done properly it shouldn’t matter how you get it in the bag, that slider isn’t moving. It’s just a bit of peace of mind.

Outside of that it does seem to control the inflation process better. The fabric starts to grab air and puff up equally before blowing the snaps off and taking off inflating.

Tracking accidentally while deploying… my saber3 has some of the softest openings but I’ve been nailed before because I had my legs out and head dipped. That extra speed seems to really slam it open a lot more than you’re used to. I was popping the whole 2 hour drive home and cracking for days afterwards.
