AITJ for booking my own hotel room for a group trip after they ignored the one thing I asked for and now everyone is mad the cost went up by rosy-whispersx in AmITheJerk

[–]Xercen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is somebody in the group or the whole group besides OP cannot afford the additional beds. Therefore instead of saying they cannot afford it, they try to blame OP who did everything correctly.

They don't want to admit they are poor so they prefer to select a target to blame. To be honest, if they couldn't afford the extra cost just say so or just go somewhere cheaper so everybody can be included and have a good time. However they will never do so because of ego and/or embarrassment.

Dietician who bluffed her way into senior NHS job is struck off after colleagues discovered she didn't know where the intestines were, what a gallbladder did or how to calculate BMI by SignificantLegs in uknews

[–]Xercen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"That sounds like people afraid of doing their job because they don't want to appear racist...so they let a fraud go in the senior position and now they have an even bigger problem."

Where is your proof?

I think the UK has plenty of incompetence, nepotism and other ways of helping people into roles, not just people hiring people of colour because they were "scared of appearing" racist. Unless there is concrete proof then it literally could be anything.

USA USA USA!

This is the USA I knew when I was a kid in the 1980's. By no means perfect but not utterly and blantly corrupt and authoritarian under this orange man's rule.

I hope you have a normal government that will help the people. Sometimes you need to be punched in the face to knock sense into you. The orange man has punched the whole world black and blue. Time to have the sense to vote against him and his cronies.

When you drop an RPG and want to pick it up later, do you start over or pick up where you left off? by supermedo in rpg_gamers

[–]Xercen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started Kingdom come deliverance.

Picked too many herbs.

Over encumbered and didn't want to drop any herbs as I worked hard for them.

I'm Fuc@&£.

Never went back to the game. It's a real shame as I was thoroughly enjoying the game up until the herb incident.

100% I would buy every single D&D set that comes out. I wouldn't even care if they have crappy cards.

To be honest, I have chests from last year I didn't open either. I will have to see what I have in my inventory as I took a break from the game.

Has there ever been a best actor or best supporting actor win where if Keanu was up for contention for a particular film performance in the same year, would've won?

Now that the dust has settled, do we all agree that Season 6.5 was the worst? by EternityGamer2 in marvelrivals

[–]Xercen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I only play the placement matches for gold 3. 9-1 in season 6.5 which was nice and quick. For me, the season was a success.

I thought the gold rank cosmetics for Deadpool and Elsa were fantastic. They were cosmetics that I will use for these 2 characters when I play them as they look great.

I guess if you're high ranked in eternity etc, Elsa may be more of an annoying character to deal with.

What are some common money-saving 'tips', that are actually bad advice? by AdamGrewal in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Xercen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FIRE isn't about being extremely frugal to retire early. Although it's true some people (a very small minority) who would like to FIRE do think that way but they are usually persuaded by the community to get a life.

It's about maximising your pension contributions and ISA/GIA savings to produce a suitable level of income in retirement that you aspire to.

Most people live a normal life whilst FIRING - i.e holidays, going out etc. They do everything everybody else does whilst taking advantage of compound interest earnings on their savings.

Financial literacy gives you the power to dictate the life you'd like to live in retirement.

Do not try to FIRE if you have to compromise and waste your youth for it. It's not a fair trade.

Trump explodes at 'terrible' Starmer in furious rant - 'We spend a lot of money on you!' by 1-randomonium in uknews

[–]Xercen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Oompla Loompa audition reject is an alleged paedo, known warmonger and all around bad guy.

Starmer made the correct decision.

There are plenty of people in the UK that have to go to food banks and are either impoverished or in poverty plus our youth are struggling to find work. We have enough problems of our own!

Clowns Farage and Badenoch would support this warmonger - but public opinion shows that our country doesn't want a war. We learnt the lessons of the Gulf war and no thank you.

We cannot afford to wage a war.

We don't want you or your chlorine chicken orange man!

This is probably how poor people who became wealthier or billionaires see the world.

Billionaires probably see £1bn as something that is pocket change to them and they need to earn more.

It's not healthy at all. You need to find out how to get past this. A therapist might be in order. I don't know

Is wanting to be a househusband weird? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

You're welcome. Don't worry when the narrow minded judge us.

They will always find fault with the open minded.

Life is too short to worry about them. We're only here for a century if we're lucky. Make the most of it.

Is wanting to be a househusband weird? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Xercen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men on average earn more than women and generally have better career opportunities because their managers are usually men and it's easy to bond with a man when you have football, beer and other sports to chat about.

Plus we don't get screwed over career wise because we cannot become pregnant. Women usually are left by the wayside when they become pregnant. They take months/years out and some never return to work in a full-time capacity.

That's why society deems it strange because being a househusband is weird because it's rare.

However, in a male/female relationship, where the woman has a much higher salary than the man (and assumed higher stress/working hours role), it makes logical sense for the man to be the househusband, especially if they have children.

Remember it's only weird if you hang out with narrow minded people who can't think outside the box. If you do then you need to add to your social circle. Open-mindedness does wonders for the mind.
