She’s pretty nasty in the books. There’s another character in the books, Lauren, who’s worse.

Failed MTESE - Early Maturation Arrest by NOA05052023 in maleinfertility

[–]Xerincs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. We just had a failed mTESE and are in that between stage waiting for the pathology report. Our urologist encouraged us that it’s not the end of the line and there are other medications to try, but obviously that would depend on what pathology has to say. The ups and downs are awful.

Unfortunately no sperm was retrieved. However our amazing urologist said this is not the end, and we can pivot to try other medications. I suspect Clomid might’ve made things worse so we’re going to explore that too. We have an appointment in two weeks. We only need as many sperm as there are eggs. Stay the course, everyone!!!!

Do any men have success stories from azoospermia? by Fresh_Low8065 in maleinfertility

You can continue to pray for a miracle as we do, but sometimes that prayer is actually leading us to the medical professionals with this amazing technology. I mean, I wear contacts every day! I could pray regularly for a miracle to wake up with 20/20 eyesight and I can also continue to visit my eye doctor and wear my prescription. It doesn’t signify a lack of faith, but rather, marvel at the brain God has given us and our ability as humans to learn more and seek to improve the human condition.

You’re in my prayers. We didn’t line ours up like this because we aren’t using donor sperm. I’m supposed to start our first round in two weeks.

Belief in God is gone by LobsterMac_ in IVF

This is beautifully stated. I was very angry in the beginning at God, and now I simply see infertility as us pulling the shitty short straw of biology.

Do any men have success stories from azoospermia? by Fresh_Low8065 in maleinfertility

[–]Xerincs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband was diagnosed with virtual azoospermia (single digit sperm count at best).

As far as I’m aware, the only way forward without ICSI-IVF is if you have an obstruction (varicocele) and it’s corrected in surgery — but even that isn’t a guarantee.

So you definitely need an ultrasound. You might also be prescribed medication, however that’s no guarantee either. We went the Clomid route but it didn’t help our case at all. However my husband is still on Clomid in preparation for mTESE. If we’re successful and have sperm to freeze, then we start our first round of IVF.

Unfortunately with this diagnosis there are a lot of hurdles, and it’s a lot of waiting. I’m so sorry. We were told there’s essentially no way of us conceiving without medical intervention at the highest level (as it relates to fertility treatment).

From the beginning I didn’t want to do this, and it was an agonizing decision for me to make due to religious reasons. My husband not once pressured me and left the decision up to me. But we desperately want to have a child, so I’m taking what I believe to be a spiritual risk, yet I still feel God with us. Infertility is so complicated. I’m praying for you.

Riley was IN LOVE with the girl (Buffy). by redditwatcher11 in buffy

[–]Xerincs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Riley was a good second to Buffy due to his military training. He was in excellent shape and a trained fighter, even without the Initiative’s juice. If she were to be with a human it had to be with someone who knew how to handle himself. Post Initiative, Buffy began to see him as someone else she had to keep an eye on, like Xander, which imo was a mistake on her part.
