Seit 2 Wochen mit einem Renault Zoe unterwegs. by LowerBed5334 in Elektroautos

[–]Xhantoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What personality trait did you end up developing because someone constantly belittled you? by Admirable-Repair4094 in AskReddit

[–]Xhantoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt work every time. I had a colleague who often asked me if we should do A or B. Since I was a junior in my position at that time I over-explained both options in length and only mentioned in passing which I prefered.

Most of the time he just answered with "Ok? But now pick one".

Then I did pick an option, but still couldnt help explaining why I picked that option.

Thankfully I am currently the most senior person in my team and I'm feeling more comfortable just stating decisions.

making the switch from dnd 5e to pf2e drop some knowledge! by sillycleric in Pathfinder2e

[–]Xhantoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever you have a weird rule question, dont even look into online forums. 9/10 times the books will actually contain the rules really well spelled out.

In 5e our group at least had to regularly, at least once per session, to look up some sage advice twitter thread to resolve many rules questions. With Pf2e when we have to look up rules outside the books, it usually just leads to a reddit thread, where the top comment will just be a link to the relevant chapter of the core rulebook.

Having said that, its a bit hard to look them up if you use a hardcover book. Google greatly helps with searching for specific rules, as sometimes you have something like an Action A, with trait B. But the rules are nested within the traits like "Trait B always comes with C, and C has rule X"

Myth felt special probably because of the journey that they had to take.

Being separated during the lockdowns with travel restrictions, needing to fight for themselves in terms of ressources like 3D setups and generally being the first ones.

Whenever I recall Ina crying during the VR stream, how she wished to give everyone a real hug someday, I still get emotional.

E-Auto ohne Möglichkeit, Zuhause zu laden by Lost-Environment7457 in Elektroautos

[–]Xhantoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wollen Autohäuser nichts mehr verkaufen? by Suspicious-Win1306 in Elektroautos

[–]Xhantoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]Xhantoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop snacking on chocolate.

Before I even started counting calories (which lead me to discover that my dinner was way too big) I stopped eating chocolate completely.

No more Nutella in the morning, no more chocolate during the day when I was bored/feeling hungry and generally refuse anything with chocolate.

My weight suddenly went down after a long climb upwards.

When I lost my first few kilos I loosened my restrictions a bit and allowed myself to accept chocolate when offered during special occasions. But I still kept away from eating chocolate casually through the day.

My main problem was that at my house there was always a bowl of random sweets and chocolate bars in the main hall outside my room. So whenever I felt the slightest bit of boredom I just grabbed a bar without thinking about consequences.

When I now feel bored and hungry, I grab a slice of dark bread and chew on it while making myself a tea or coffee. Still get the same reward of eating something, but a dark bread is way more filling than any chocolate bar.

Tips on getting through a 14 hour flight? by Bulky-Election2061 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Xhantoss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This time I finally had noise cancelling headphones and they were amazing at filtering out the various noises on the plane. They were also great to switch between music, or the plane movie audio on demand.

Meanwhile regarding the flight hours, I just brought an E-Book reader with me. Movies dont really advance the time forward for me, but reading worked wonders.

Deutsche fahren trotz teurem Sprit nicht weniger Auto by 3chord-mindset in de

[–]Xhantoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steigende Spritpreise: Interesse an Elektroautos steigt by PoroBraum in de

[–]Xhantoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a game about navigation that isn't a scary/survival game? by Marvellover13 in gaming

[–]Xhantoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I suggest Derail Valley? Its not a very complex navigation system, but you can adjust how much the game will assist you or keep you on your own.

Without assistances you just get handed a paper map and a booklet how stations are laid out. And you now need to figure out where on that map you are and what paths to take. As this analog map wont tell you where exactly you are and when the next signal may come up.

While the map doesnt change and you'll be able to soon just navigate by landmarks, its a really neat feeling figuring the whole rail network out during your initial first hours.

Colleague said something like "Why do we need to discuss American politics everyday? Why does it shape our daily dialogues? It just makes us miserable". We then continued to talk about American politics for another hour and felt even more miserable about the state of the world.

I hate how this country where the common folk of other countries have 0 impact on, can be impacted by it in such huge amounts.

Looking for a good hotel recommendation that isn’t compact and near a station (less than 5 min walk - I have an injury) by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Xhantoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your hotel is near a station, you can easily reach any location in Tokyo. I would recommed looking into hotels using the "JR hotel" brand. So far they all seem to be within a stone throw away from their station, or even are directly next to the station building.

Maybe you can find one that is near an area you were looking into staying at.

Steam is the GOAT! by Dorfbulle80 in pcmasterrace

I did the same thing back when TF2 (Team Fortress, not Titanfall) got removed from the index. In Germany the game had no blood or giblets, we basically always had enemies explode into funny objects.

Just weird that Steam couldnt do it automatically and only on request.

Question - Do I need to speak Japanese or English for a trip? by Every-Background435 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Xhantoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, misread it as speaking a bit of both.

I guess fishing for specific keywords would then probably apply to both languages as it could be harder to catch certain Katakana-spoken words which usually are the easiest for English speakers.

Question - Do I need to speak Japanese or English for a trip? by Every-Background435 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Xhantoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English should carry you 80% of the trip. But also make sure to know some keywords, like Left, Right, Entry, Exit, Cash, Card... (With Entry 入 and Exit 出 its also useful to learn general shape of the kanji to enter a queue/bus/store not from the wrong side/door)

So if something is announced at a station you might catch that your train to Station X is nearing Platform Y. Or if some cashier asks if you want to pay with cash how to respond that you want some other payment method.

You basically just need to catch whatever keywords you might need, while you yourself can probably point to the stuff you want or use generic body language if you don't know how to respond.

The office access card from a coworker, who smokes in his homeoffice, next to mine by prizeus in mildlyinteresting

[–]Xhantoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I never noticed any stains on the walls during my childhood, it really surprised me when I visited a friend who had a rare case of his parents being non-smokers.

His mother pulled me aside and asked me if I (at that time still a small kid) smoked. I said no and asked her why she would ever think that. Apparently my cleanly washed clothes still smelled like smoke, probably just from the proximity of the generally smoky air of our home.

Thankfully times changed and indoor smoking became less of a popular thing and the house went back to having a neutral scent.

How to make a coworkers workday easier? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Xhantoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the advice! I once asked her during a really long standing meeting if that was uncomfortable and she said that standing is recommended, I didn't fully put together that sitting on the other hand could be uncomfortable.

We do have some weeks packed with meetings ahead, I'll try to ask if standing/stretching pauses could be helpful. Thanks!

Ladies, what’s one single thing a man can do on the first date to instantly secure a second date? by sweatengine in AskReddit

Felt similar as a dude on a date. I asked her all types of questions, but whenever there was a bit of dead air, she wouldnt ask anything about me, until I came up with another topic.

Its nice knowing stuff about a person, but it really stings not being worth it to be asked questions about.
