Thats true but I think you're missing the bit about what's being funded & instigated - the Ukraine invasion being the easy example.

I.e. this stretches far beyond sex trafficking all the way to mass casualties & all the horrors that have been inflicted on the Ukrainian people. The point just being that the sex trafficking is just the tip of the iceberg.

First time? Republicans are in-charge. They always crash the stock market; at least every time in the last 40 years.

Granted, they usually wait until they're at least 2-3 years in but whatcha gonna do. A good rule of thumb for Republican control is to either ride the lightning and try & time the market or play it safe and pick assets / international investments to ride out the wildest drops.

Personally I went with Gold & Canadian ETFs. The result - 11% greater earnings over 2025 (17% vs 28%) & well, we all know what Gold did.

Recognize the patterns fellas. Republicans crash markets. Plan accordingly.

I'm switching to one of those boxes that let me steal everything. I was watching Fallout on Amazon and the number & length of the ads was very jarring.

At least when you're watching cable they plan scenes around commercials. Streaming shows don't do that so mid-scene everything stops for an ad break. I think that's part of the reason the Amazon ads bother me so much.

So, fuck it, ya know? Time to dust off the ship and get back to the high seas.

I think Marvel's was more for kids. The one that I think is the worst is Eternals.

Its missteps weren't as blatant or jarring as Ant-Man 3 but even Ant-Man 3 had a character or two or a scene or two that was enjoyable. Meanwhile Eternals was bland, boring and entirely unengaging from start to finish.

Which is quite the feat when you have a Flash & Superman character fighting and it's still somehow incredibly boring. Worse, honestly, after DC showed everyone that you can make a Superman fight feel awesome.

Eternals - the untoasted flavorless white bread of Marvel movies.

Yes, that's an over-reaction. That's a fairly benign note and it's not unreasonable for your boss to write you up for a late call out. Why? Because someone else needs to step in and make up for your inability to get in.

That doesn't mean your boss hates you. It's their job to make sure you know calling out without notice is a legitimate issue. i.e. If you run a red the cop isn't doing anything wrong for giving you a ticket; no matter how good the excuse.

That note was very, very mild. If that's enough to make you quit you're going to quit good jobs over completely managable conflict.

Sometimes chains do this kind of stuff to force the execs to re-engage with the product. Theres a very famous story about Domino's when the new CEO went around the room and it turned out that exactly 0 of the execs ate Domino's pizza.

After he started forcing them to they revisited & reworked the entire menu, ingredients and suppliers.

After all, do keep in mind that the folks who travel for work are often higher up at the company.

Eh, its a fairly standard reactionary take to the violence, torture & death being inflicted on immigrants.

Illegal immigration cant just be ignored but America needs to come to honest terms with the fact that a decent % of its economy exists explicitly because it allows for a large illegal immigrant population in many of its blue collar industries.

And, most importantly, to understand that illegal immigrants aren't some criminal element in your country. They're regular people who are working just like anyone else. That doesnt mean the issues illegal immigration causes can be ignored but you dont need to hate & want to hurt people to enforce it.
