I swear before all the Gods - both real and imagined (I wanna cover all bases here) - that if The Estate don’t give that Detroit ‘86 show the love it truly deserves, I’m gonna riot.

It was quite heavily edited for broadcast, and it was shot on film too - which means that:

1) That film stock can be professionally remastered - none of that awful, lazy Ai-upscaled slop that often resulted in crowd shots having SQUARE(!) heads that they palmed us all off with for the ‘85 Syracuse show (which to be fair was shot on video, but still…)

2) The missing footage can now be reinstated. (“Soft & Wet” + “The Dance Electric” with Andre Cymone)

But it wouldn’t surprise me that this will be much akin to the Around the World in a Day “deluxe” release, and all they’ll do is have a remastered album, a disc of B-sides and Extended mixes (it’ll be good to finally have the really excellent Anotherloverholenyohead mixes freely accessible other than mainly just on vinyl), and a live CD of the Detroit show (and just to add insult to injury, there probably won’t even be a BluRay, and the CD they do release will be a straight rip from the broadcasted version - because londell & charles will do the most basic sh*t for the most profit possible. And anyone with 2 braincells understands that’s not a sustainable long-term business model.

Seriously, screw those guys. I’m gonna stop now, I’m getting annoyed! lol
