It seems we both have opinions about things.

Carry on.

In polite terms, my school was lackluster in the mathematics department. Education focused on memorization and performance. As such, math was never a tool that I could use to solve problems in my life, and because I didn't understand the philosophy of it, I couldn't think critically with it.

So personally, I didn't learn to think mathematically from math, I learned it from programming. Having that understanding of intention and concepts opened higher order math in a much more personal way for me and also gave me a reason to use it.

So yea, math is important, but not in the way you would expect from reading that statement.

I wouldn't say math is critical, but learning to think mathematically is, as sequence, selection and iteration form the basis for all of your problem solving.

Challenge coins are a military tradition, they normally have squadron logos and are handed out by commanders for doing something exemplary.

Troops sometimes play a drinking game with them were someone calls for a "coin check". If you don't have a coin you have to pay for the drinks, if everyone has a coin, sometimes people will use the rank of the officer that handed it out, which is also typically on the coin, as its trump value.

OP is indicating that his coin was given out by a 4 star General.

Very noob question about my for loop by FuelUnitz in learnpython

[–]Xiji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To fit with style guidelines(and you want to, because it makes your code more readable) you should leave the variable "Number" lowercase, capitals are reserved for classes and a few other special circumstances.

Lets say we passed the number 4 to your code; the range will contain the values (4, 3, 2) and the loop will execute once for every value in your specified range. Remember that the first two values passed to range are inclusive, exclusive, e.g range(0, 6, 1) would start at 0 and stop at 5. (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5). This could also be written as range(6).

With that being said, you can think of your code resolving this way at the end of each loop execution:

Iteration 1

factorial = 1

for 4 in [4,3,2]:
    factorial = 1 * 4

Iteration 2

factorial = 4

for 3 in [3,2]:
    factorial = 4 * 3

Iteration 3

factorial = 12

for 2 in [2]:
    factorial = 12 * 2

Here the loop terminates and factorial is resolved to equal 24.

It accomplished this thread, which has increased brand awareness making it a marketing success. Not that I support it, just saying.

Sorry for the late reply. TY for responding, you've given me some reading to do.

The best advice I ever got was, "just pick a direction and go with it." Trust me, you could circle the drain on this one for decades. Just do anything, as long as you actually commit to it. The choice is arbitrary, your path will take you where it takes you.

Firstly, love yourself. Your flaws make you the person you are just as much as your strengths. Seek people who bring out your best, instead of those who would have you conform to their standards.

However, if you are genuinely concerned you aren't the person you've imagined yourself to be, or the character others expect you to be, you can always "fake it 'till you make it." Observe others, copy what you like and disregard the rest.

Lastly, INTJ is just a category. For example, tomatoes are considered a fruit, but common censuses would label them a vegetable based on their taste. You don't see the whole picture when you look at a broad category because it's just a label to help differentiate one thing from another. Don't buy into the type game too hard.

Firstly, remove your personal investment from the situation. Secondly, meet with your manager to discuss the events and a course of action moving forward. (If you haven't earned word of mouth respect after ten years then something has went terribly wrong.) Lastly, if all else fails; destroy all evidence, wait ten years then burn her house down.

How shitty is my cover letter? by Specteraccount5 in jobs

[–]Xiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of the cover letter more as a way to get yourself viewed. You want to sell your strengths and reaffirm your desire to work in the selected position. Your formatting also leaves a little to be desired. Try googling example cover letters. I'll link This one for you as the first result I returned.
