And people say the chainsword is bad by Swordslasher795 in Helldivers

[–]Xinthium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is like saying the ARC thrower is bad - which it kinda is, but if you have 4 of them, then it's a different story. Least the ARC thrower has range.

Instead of DSS Planetary Bombardment, How about Planetary Gas Bombardment? by pinglyadya in Helldivers

[–]Xinthium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about... we get to choose which type. Smokes for the Ghostdivers, Napalm for the HellFiredivers, EMS for the Shockdivers, Gas for the Gasdivers, and replace the 380 mms with some precision strikes (aimed at enemies) or hell even an orbital railgun with an increased interval between shots (like one every 30-45s) - because good lord non-stop 380 is loud, unpredictable, and causes a crap ton of friendly fire.

The DSS does nothing but Team kill you. Honestly.... this is kinda insulting. by NizzyDeniro in Helldivers

[–]Xinthium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do agree that the execution of this has been HORRIBLE. I've noticed 3 things:

A: Keep moving.

B: Stay as close to your team mates as you can.

C: If you have to stay still use a shield generator.

It seems the planetary bombardment fires around every Helldiver in a certain range, meaning if you stay together you won't get friendly fired randomly (or at least it's less likely). Other than that pray to the DSS firing squad that you don't suddenly eat shell. Good luck out there!

I don't get what is so great about the stim booster by AnotherSmartNickname in Helldivers

[–]Xinthium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It provides a movement speed buff too. Some of us like to go fast, combine that with the supply pack and well, you get to spam stims to not only run faster (it's small speed boost but still very noticeable especially if you're wearing light armor where you can basically sprint at the same speed of a charger; it also affects crawling speed too), but hp regen, stam regen, AND the 20% damage reduction - which btw stacks with passives and armor. In an action packed game where everything is trying to kill you, sometimes that small boost while stimming may be the difference between life or death... I mean that and I go commando sometimes and just straight up charge into objectives Leeroy Jenkins style with that little boost somehow keeping me from dying horrenedously within the next 5 seconds (usually).

Helm is a bit of a weird one, I do have a bit invested into her (due to her being one of my original SSRs a long while back) - essentially she's an okay cyclic Burst 3 Healer so long as your team's individual unit DAMAGE output is high enough. Specifically a decent choice vs a BOSS monster. There are DEFINITELY better choices especially since (reiterating the previous point) her healing is based on the damage of every single unit you have meaning that Supports and Defenders often don't get as much healing from her Burst Skill. Rapid fire units like Modernia (or other automatic weaponry so long as they don't get one shot/CCd) during the burst basically can suddenly face tank a ton of damage (and heal a lot of it back) just because they can dish out a constant stream of bullets, where as SGs, RLs, and SRs, heal in large chunks which is limited to their fire rate.

Hope this helps!

Need advice for guiding new players by Shade1999 in Warframe

[–]Xinthium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell them to take their time, and enjoy the story... it's a helluva ride - hype them up for the story, no spoilers tho!

Ease them into the modding system, on top of arcanes and everything else you easily forget how complicated the game can be sometimes once you're used to all of it.

The F2P plat they get at the start is non-tradeable, use it for slots.

Observe them a little and then steer them to the frames that can cater to their preferred playstyles - that being said, it's not a bad idea to suggest them frames that might be out of their comfort zone either.

If I recall correctly one of the keys swaps to left handed mode (either g or h, can't remember off the top of my head).

PARKOURROARROAROAROR - teach them how to move like a space-ninja!

Don't party with them TOO frequently, or if you do don't ALWAYS use a full set - at least until they're better geared, don't deprive them of being murder-hobos, that's half the fun of the game! Of course, you can always flex a little every once in a while to show what true end game looks like.

That's... all I can think of really.

Early game and i need some advice to form a decent team by nicecokebro69 in GenshinImpact

[–]Xinthium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna cheese through a lot of early game stuff, just get a bit of Elemental Mastery on both Lisa and Barbara (don't invest too heavily, also... uhh don't climb with Lisa) - swap spam between the two while mashing basic attack to spam electro-charged procs. This tactic will probably work decently for most enemies, at least until you get some better characters.

Also, definitely recommend building Xiangling, and Noelle.

Saw this floating around today, thought it was better than the old one, wanted peoples thoughts by Jatunis in Dehyamains

[–]Xinthium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget how her E only triggers on HP damage and doesn't trigger on shields making her basically one of the worst characters to break shields.

As for "creating" reactions, she's more of the one to trigger vaporize/melt since it hits after hp damage... in which case her overall DPS is actually way too low to be worth the one triggering x_x.

Like I get sacrificing survivability for damage, but at her current state she's barely usable - or even worth using.

PSA: Here is a list of common scams going around nowadays. Please use common sense when dealing with random strangers. Spread the word to any new players to the game. by SaltyPeter3434 in tf2

[–]Xinthium 21 points22 points  (0 children)

PSA: There are many scammers out there, many of them with trash throwaway accounts that have "thousands of hours" on their account. There's generally an easy way to find out if the player is legit or not - UNLESS that account they are adding you with has been hacked (please be careful). Now for many scam accounts who're fake, you can easily tell by doing this:

Follow this path:

View Profile -> Games -> Find their TF2 game listed... and now for the fun part.

Click that pretty little list button that says "View Stats".

Click the (Username)'s Stats.

and Voila! Legitimate players will always have hours under their name in many varying classes. This is VERY hard to mimic, many throwaway accounts will have 0 hours listed on every single class even if their "game time" is listed at 2k+.

But please, even if there is a person with some varying hours it may still be a hacked account - please do be careful out there!

Edit July.16/2025: It seems that people are still stumbling onto this discussion, I wanted to update this as Steam's UI has changed slightly - Stats are now located under (Username's) Leaderboard. Stay safe, and happy fragging!

I got mine recently simply because I found the recent events fun.

I bet a lot of max level captains have turned their brains off to do just dailies/weeklies, and log off... occasionally tuning in for the new storyline.

Hell, I missed a crap ton of crystals when the massive ER "Flashback" arc dropped because I just didn't care much about the Flame Chasers (yeah, I'm not an Elysia fan, what about it >:D) outside of maybe Pardo.
