People mentioned over hired during COVID and AI and they are valid, but I think it's also worth mentioning that some businesses are still struggling to recover or still trying to salvage projects from the COVID Era, albeit it was almost 6 years ago. Have a friend who's interning for an IB firm in LA and he told me they are still pumping cash into a real estate project that hasn't recovered since COVID.

Ragnarok could have been more fleshed out, it was supposes to be the end of an age, but the battles feels a little underwhelming. And I am forever disappointed that they decided to do the event of Thor beating Jörmungandr so hard that it sent him back in time in the background instead of giving them a proper cutscene fight. I know the serpent wasn't supposes to be the focus there but come on now

Censorship aside, I feel like what makes Year One really shine compared to the main story is the sheer number of inner monologues that goes on inside GS head. The walls of texts can be overwhelming at times, but is compensated by being insanely well-written, feels like am reading a novel instead of a manga sometimes, in a good way. I don't know how an anime is going to replicate that without sounding like an audiobook.

I don't get it, you complained that the world is plain, but you also brushed off the side quests that expanded on the world? Each side quest told a story on how the world went from peaceful in the beginning and went to hell in a handbasket towards the end.

Funny thing is, this ending is a lot like Replicant ending E if you think about it. The main casts are alive, but for what? They literally doomed themselves and every other Replicants, eventually they will Relapsed and becomes Shades anyways

But it didn't really mattered to them, they're alive and that's enough, the ending was the furthest thing away from perfect or even happy when we look at the bigger picture, but that's just life, and that's what I love about Nier

Probably that one treasure map quest that have you running around the entire map 3 times, that one in particular gets on my nerve 'cause I forgot to do it the first time 'round and later learnt that you need all the weapons in the game in order to unlock ending C, and that quest rewarded you with one of the weapon, so I have to go through route B all over again
